I am here, there might not be any snow, but I am FREEZING! :roll
I am gearing up for semester 1 of clinicals, starts Jan 9th..just blows my mind that it is finally here!!!!! I have the nervous/excited jitters and I imagine they will only get worse. I bought a bunch of school supplies tonight, paper, pens, etc. Still have a few more things to get and need to set my study area up this weekend.
What's going on in your corner of Indiana?
Hey LoriRN2B and Whispera - nice to have some fellow Hoosiers on the board!
Lori - I'm going to Ivy Tech Bloomington and just finished my pre-reqs this last semester. This spring I will be taking a 'break' with abnormal psych, sociology (online) and Spanish III. I say a break because they are all classes I want to take not have to. The deadline to apply for Fall '06 is March 9 and all I have left to do is take the TEAS. I am currently studying for that. I plan to take it around the 3rd week of January. What school do you attend where you are starting in January? Good Luck! Isn't buying school supplies so exciting???
Whispera - nice to meet you. Are you currently a nurse or a student? What part of IN are you from? North/South/East/West?
Both of you have a great day and don't be strangers! I will be checking in around here more often now that I found this board. Forever I only spent time on the pre-nursing board...didn't venture out too much. Then look - I found INDIANA :)

I'm with you Lori! I start clinicals on the 9th too. Good luck
Hi again. I'm a nursing clinical instructor for Indiana University South Bend. You'll all do great, just go with the flow, study hard, and try not to get TOO stressed out! (Easy for me to say, right?)
Yes - but you were there at one time and at least have an understanding of what we are going through. Sometimes (at least for me) my family doesn't understand
I think lots of people don't understand how difficult nursing school is, or what nurses do. My family didn't and still doesn't. They don't see how intense the work (learning it and doing it too) is. Sometimes I think all they see are nurses as they're portrayed on tv and in the movies (the inaccurate portrayals). We have to educate them!
