The waiting period

Published

Hey guys! I've applied to two nursing schools in my area and I won't know till the end of June/beginning of July for both. This waiting period is horrible! Anyone want to share stories of how they distracted themselves or just offer support? I know God will get me in when it's my time, I just want it to be now! I'd love to talk with all of you waiting folks and the ones that have already gone through this!

Good luck to everyone waiting I got my official acceptance letter today!!! I have orientation on July 9th and I am so excited!!

Awwww yay!!! Congrats and good luck to you!

DON"T GIVE UP IF YOU DON'T GET IN! I tried twice before getting my acceptance letter finally, and I start the RN Program in August. I just kept chipping away at the pre reqs and even the co reqs, never accepting no for an answer. I'm 49 years old and I do bulldog rescue, so I've learned the meaning of tenacious! Now in the program I will only have the core NUR courses to take since I've already taken all the other courses. GOOD LUCK!!!

Good luck to you!! I'm thinking about 3 more weeks until I hear back from both programs! Ahhhh I can't wait!

I'm starting to count down the days!! Between now and July 1st I may start stalking the mailman!

The school I applied to had rolling admissions... I put my application in march 5, 2013. Got a letter in may saying fall class is full... Now I'm waiting on spring notice... By aug 31 if I have not gotten accepted then ill be in the running for fall 2014... The wait is killing me! This fall I'm taking classes ill need to transfer for my BSN...

The wait is terrible... I check my email everyday... Waiting for that one.., RE: your application or CONGRATULATIONS!

Just waiting...

Congrats to those of you who have gotten word!

I have no good advice for you... I simply offer you the knowledge that your notice will come, you will stalk your mail carrier and think the one day you didn't even receive junk mail is the day the mail carrier messed up and put your acceptance letter in someone else mailbox by mistake, you will drive your family crazy with worry, and then magically one day it will come in the mail. Our program extended their deadline twice ultimately by a month so I went crazy since I applied the day after the app period opened. It was horrible and my husband and family teased me over checking the mail so often. Now that I have been accepted I am anxiously awaiting the orientation and first day of class. Good luck to you and hopefully this will be your year. Stay strong and hopeful!

Same here! You go from waiting and pacing and stalking your mailbox for your acceptance letter to waiting and pacing and stalking your school email for news of when your orientation is! I am a nervous wreck because I hate not knowing what to expect and what we are supposed to have done BEFORE orientation. I looked up the ADN student handbook on the college website and found a list of vaccinations we are supposed to have before orientation, but that is the only mention of anything I can find regarding orientation. I set up my first Hep B and will be making an appt for a serum test to have my titers done.

The good thing is, I will know one answer by June 30th so I actually have a date for that. The program that I feel more likely to be accepted to is saying they are hoping to have letters out by the beginning of July, so we will see! I still stalk the mail even though I know it is not coming just yet.

My program actually notified the first batch of accepted applicants pretty early, they said we would have an answer by July 10 but maybe sooner, and it was actually the first week in June. But they said we would have orientation by mid June and I am still waiting on that! Hope you get good news!
