So for some of us we have already received our acceptances and just finishing off this semester and we'll be all ready for summer and fall. Only have nine weeks to go and I just want it to be done now! lol I'm volunteering at the hospital this summer which I'm pretty excited about doing that and then waiting for orientation in september lol. I can only imagine what it's like for the people starting summer.
So how's your wait going? Did you get the packet of materials from the school yet? Book list ect. I didn't get mine yet but I know what's in it. The stuff saying we need CPR certification, background check and drug test info, some info on the malpractice insurance we need, the good ole' health form (I hate that thing ). I also know that we're required to buy the Nursing Constellations software for our mobile phones/PDA. Sigh lol I wanna cry already at all the money.

Hi there. I rcvd my acceptance letter the other day with a small packet of things to take care of. At the end of the month we will have orientation where we will find out more about the program. I'm so excited....and scared! I will have to quit my job of 19 years to do this. The wait is driving me crazy. lol Big changes coming around the corner! Congratulations on your acceptance :)

I'm starting an ABSN program in August (yippee!!) but we've just gotten acceptances about two weeks ago so we're all waiting to get more information (I guess to give everyone time to accept/decline and get deposits in, etc first). I wish I knew more! I want book lists, supply lists, something substantial. Even if it's just paperwork! I'm going back up to NC next week to start the apartment hunting process... that'll be good, make me feel like I'm doing something productive. :) Even though I'm not looking forward to moving, ew.
I shouldn't get too antsy... I still have to finish A&P 2 and Micro this semester, and enjoy my last summer off, but I'm still pretty excited about starting nursing school finally.

Today was the application dead-line for Fall 2010 ADN program, Central Florida. I had my application ready to go in hands 1 month ago, the day they were posted at the school website, but could not bring myself to turn it in till today. Now the wait starts, I called to ask how many applications they got in, they only have 77 chairs... I wanna feel confident that I will get in, 3.9 GPA A's in all my sciences, clean back ground check, etc... but apparently there are many of us out there filling out the same application, and with some sort of medical experience already under their belts... (unlike me) Packets won't go out till April... URGH!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait another minute, What's one to do?!?!?!?!

I am done with my pre-nursing credits and currently taking a couple of courses to transfer to the school I will be attending for my BSN. I spent a year playing the "waiting game" for applicants and now I am spending the "waiting game" before I start nursing school. I am just enjoying the time I have right now (where I don't have any science courses that take up a ton of time) and getting myself ready and rested for the welcomed storm that is about to come in six months. I obtained a CNA license for my state recently to keep me busy until then (however I don't have a job... yet) and this summer, I am hoping to give myself a "break" by visiting my brother and his family (I have a niece and nephew to spoil) in Plainfield, IL. I'm just enjoying what life has in store for me and getting my mind and body at peace so I will be refreshed and ready next fall. There are days I have anxiety or that I may not be able to start next fall because of money (my tuition is going to be almost $10k per semester for 4 semesters) but I snap myself out of it.
Just enjoy the moment. You're accepted and there is no more "competition anxiety" to worry about. :)

I am waiting too! It should only be a couple of weeks now until I hear back! I am so excited/nervous! Besides the money part, I am excited to get accepted (hopefully) and go buy all of my supplies and books and attend orientation (yes, I am a N-E-R-D, but I embrace it haha). Hopefully soon I can post on here that I have been A-C-C-E-P-T-E-D!

I'm currently finishing up pre-reqs but I start my program in May. I only have 2 weeks after finals to put the finishing touches on everything, but I'm so excited to start.
I received the supply list, immunization requirements, etc with the letter. My parents are nurses, so I bummed most of the things I needed from them. Immunizations are all up to date, housing is secured and loans are set in place (it'd be nice if some scholarship money would be awarded soon as well lol ). The only thing I really have left to do is purchase the uniform.
Classes are keeping me busy but honestly, I can't wait until this semester ends. Only 1 month and 3 weeks left.

I got my acceptance letter this week with a form to mail back with a $50 deposit. There was no packet of information, so hopefully this will come soon. I am anxiously awaiting. I have wanted to do this for years and can't believe it is finally happening. I start late-August.
