The wait is driving me insane!!

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I interviewed for a job I want more then anything two weeks ago tomorrow... The unit director said they were still interviewing candidates and it would be a week or two before I would hear anything. Since then I've been slowly driving myself insane by checking my email, phone, and application status online 10x a day! Obviously I haven't heard anything yet. A friend of mine who works on the unit said they were told on Monday that they were still interviewing candidates later this week. I don't know how much longer before I truly go insane! I'm starting to lose hope!

Take a deep breath and relax. Your hyperanxiety won't make the news arrive any quicker. Management moves at the speed of management!

So have a cup of tea and wait for good news. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you. Good luck to you.

have you given a follow-up call? I would, and ask are they still in the process of interviewing or have they made a decision yet. I shows your interest and lets you know whats happening so you're not left in the dark. The worst they could say is "we've decided to go with someone else" which is usually followed by something like "but we will keep your application on hand" but following up cant hurt. its not like theyll say "oh this candidate is a little too eager for this job, i think we should go with someone else" haha

good luck!

It's now been 4 weeks since my interview and I haven't heard much of anything! As of last Friday the managers still had not made a decision! The gal in HR that I was finally able to get in contact with suggested I check back with her this week and she would find out where the managers were at in the hiring process. Emailed her on Wed, and now I haven't heard anything again! The job is still listed on the website and my online application status still says "interview"... I'm getting so frustrated. Even a "sorry it's a no" letter would be better then anything at this point, then at least I can stop wondering and hoping!

@NurseQT any luck? That's terrible they made you wait that long!

No. :( I spoke with a friend who works up there yesterday and she said she asked the director about me and the director said I was their top candidate. BUT they have another interview scheduled this week and this nurse apparently has surgical experience! I can't compete with that! I'm hoping she either doesn't show up for the interview or they don't like her. All this waiting and hoping, not to mention the stuff I did to prepare myself and land this job may have all been for nothing!

Have you heard anything more? I've been waiting 5 days after a pretty promising interview but the wait is making me insane as well! Good luck!

Havent heard a thing yet!!! It's officially been over 6 weeks since my interview! My friend asked one of the team leaders if they had heard anything this past Monday and the team leader hadn't heard anything yet either!

9 weeks later and I'm still waiting... To say that I'm really frustrated is putting mildly! My online app still says "interview" and the position is still posted on the website. At this point even a "thanks but no thanks" email would be better then nothing at all! I've never encountered something like this before and I'm at a complete loss.

Well after 4 months I finally heard something regarding this job... After a shift in schedules the position was eliminated all together... What's frustrating is I didn't hear this news from HR or the department managers, I heard it from my friend who works on the unit. I have received nothing from HR, no f/u email, no declination letter, nothing. And my online app still says "interview"... For such a large company I'm pretty disappointed in how they've gone about this hiring process..
