The wait for your acceptance into nursing school

Published

Anyone else finding the wait to see if you are accepted into nursing school excrutiating. Right now I am waiting to find out if I am accepted, and it has totally got me freakd out. It's like everything is riding on this one thing that I am waiting for.

Right now, the school I applied to is going through the applications making sure that everything that needs to be done is, so I have been in close contact with my advisor. I am waiting to see if the english class I am taking will be accepted by the nursing school. I am so nervous, I just want everything to work out.

Just wanted to know if anyone else out there is sitting anxiously for their acceptance letter.

Naenae1979, I unerstand what you mean when you say this is more than just a career change! This is going to be my 2nd career and I am soo excited about it, I think about it all the time! It's so hard to try and get my mind off finding out! I should find out sometime in March..hopefully ;). The wait seem soo long. Good Luck to everyone!

CONGRATS NJ! :yeah:

All the hard work definitely paid off and you deserve it. Which school will you be attending?

I'm not doing well with the waiting either and all I'm waiting for right now are my nln test scores.:uhoh3: After that I have to wait to hear from Beth Israel as to whether I got accepted or not. My poor neck is shot, I can't even move it because of the tension. I can't take this, it's torture!

A big CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who have already received your acceptance!!! And to those who have an interview as well, since you've made the first cut!!

I turned in my application yesterday, so the wait is on. My school accepts students based on a point system, and I have done everything in my power to make sure that I more than meet the requirements. After looking at past scores, I feel pretty confident, but I won't rest easy until I have that much-coveted letter in hand. The deadline is March 1st, and letters don't go out until early to mid-April, so I've got a ways to go. Here's to having a couple of classes to hopefully keep me distracted.:)

Good luck, everyone!!

anyone here waiting for southwestern community colleges ADN program? I heard FEB they going to send the letters of acceptance out! I'm #37 as we of now.

I as well am going insain with the wait. I am a guy with an GPA of 3.6 and all but 2 of mr prereq. done and am against around 2000 applicantes for 300 spots. the letters started going out and I did not recieve one yet(acceptence or denial) and the worst part is when people as you if you got yours yet or when you hear them talking about it. but the school has until march to let us know. i swear this wait will be then end of me:uhoh3:

:eek:Count me in for the wait too- I applied the first week of September, when the application became available. The deadline was Nov 30th, and the first round of reviews was last week, but it seems they don't send out all the letters together? Argggggh, this is enough to drive a person crazy!

Hey JBMmommy,

I am also waiting for the nursing program. However I applied around Late Fall =( and there is also a lottery that needs to be done. My advisor said that I will know by next month (march). I need to review A/P I and II while I wait, its been 5 years since I took A/P I =P I wanted to know early because I wanted to go on a Study Abroad program!Good luck, I hope you will get accepted soon!

When I'm doing apps, I always think that's the worst part - trying to sort through what each school wants, writing the essays, tracking down the transcripts, feeling guilty about asking people to write your letters of rec...

...but then we get to this point and THIS? This waiting is the worst. I've taken to planning a nice vacation in the Fall so that if I don't get in, I have something to look forward to come September anyway. Plus, it (kind of) keeps my mind off of the wait. :)

Best of luck to everyone who's waiting and hang in there. :)

Thats my plan too! If I don't get in we are going to Hawaii then the job search begins....I am also applying to AS degree RN programs now that I feel so insecure with my chances for ABSN. Here is to hoping we are panicing for no reason!

WooHoo!! I am in at Wright State Accelerated Beacon program in Dayton, OH! I start at the end of March! Congrats to all those accepted so far and best wishes to those still waiting!

I understand you guys completely.

My experience of competing, applying, and waiting furiously for a coveted spot in a nursing program was also without trepidation.

I've had recurring nightmares about it. I kept dreaming I was the ONLY student (among hundreds of applicants) who was turned away by the university.

It didn't seem fair!

The revelation finally came to me last week in the form of a university packet. In it was a letter, signed by the director of nursing, congratulating me of my acceptance to the BSN program.

I am not religious (except during Thanksgiving), but I did thank the Lord rather profusely. This is undoubtedly the best news for me in this relatively new year.

To those who are waiting, your time will come, too.

And to those who have been officially accepted, congratulations!
