Hey Everyone!

Super excited to start this journey. I didn't see a topic for this program yet so I thought I would start one.

My Stats:

TEAS- 85.3%

Science GPA- 3.75

Overall GPA- 3.14

I talked to UTMB SON today and it could be up to 16 weeks from the time the application closed on March 15th to receive a decision. If by week 12, you have not received anything, they said to call to check your application status. The average to hear back is 8-10 weeks so hang in there!

Got my acceptance letter today! Super pumped. Now that I received it I'll share my application stats:

Cumulative GPA: 3.2

Nursing Prereq: 3.7

Science Prereq: 4.0

TEAS: 85.7 (99.9 in Math, 77.8 in science, I think the others were 85 and 86 or somewhere around there)

Experience: I'm a firefighter/medic both career and volunteer and previous project manager. I watched a lot of application renovation on YouTube for help with my Personal Statement. Perhaps biased but I thought my personal statement was amazing. Good luck and congrats to the rest of you!!

Congratulations!! Hopefully I'll be in your cohort! Do you know if anyone has heard back with rejections?

Not sure... to be completely honest I don't know anyone else applying so any update I get comes from here.

Yea I got a couple different emails from them -1. acceptance letter 2. directions on how to accept and pay the deposit along with waiting for the next steps as far as drug screening and background check.

I'm honestly surprised more people haven't received theirs yet, my stats aren't necessarily amazing. I guess my experience and personal statement really helped, not sure.

(Also I took the TEAS 7 and haven't taken a chemistry course in forever for anyone wondering)

Oh, also! the letter stated to submit my decision by May 8th.. so don't quote me on anything cause I literally have no idea and at very most a guess - but maybe everyone will be getting their decision within the next 2 weeks?

I received my acceptance letter, via email, this morning also! 

Here are my primary stats

  • TEAS: Overall 91.3 (Reading: 87.2%, Math: 97.1%, Science: 93.2%, English & Language 84.8%)
  • Overall GPA: 3.78
  • Life & Physical Science GPA: 4.0
  • Honors Program Graduate with an AS in Life Science
  • Red Cross Volunteer - volunteered in a shelter during a time of natural disaster. 

I also worked really hard on my resume and personal statement. For the personal statement I really dug into my personal life and shared how my life experiences inspired me to begin the journey of becoming a nurse. 

I was also accepted to UT Health Cizik School of Nursing. I love both of these schools and feel so grateful to have been given the opportunity to attend either one. I will make my final decision soon. Wishing everyone else luck. For those of you that have yet to receive your letter, do not get disheartened. There is still the posibility that you will receive your letter very soon. I know for UTMB I have seen in other threads on this site that not all acceptances went out at the same time, in prior semesters. But no matter what, if this path is what you want to do, don't give up!

I GOT IN! 

I received my acceptance letter through email. For those who haven't heard anything yet, don't stress to hard. I hear they do multiple waves, so if you haven't hear back yet, you still have a chance! Don't lose hope!
