The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Fall 2023

Published

Hey Everyone!

Super excited to start this journey. I didn't see a topic for this program yet so I thought I would start one.

My Stats:

TEAS- 85.3%

Science GPA- 3.75

Overall GPA- 3.14

For those of you that have been accepted.  Have you received your class schedule/clinicals for the fall?  I just got accepted for Spring 2024 and I am curious if classes are every day on campus or if there are certain days that are clinicals for the first semester.  I am trying to determine whether to accept my admission and if so whether to commute or try to find an apartment.  Thanks

Hello I'm an future applicant and I was wondering if you got in? And did you have alot of clinical or hospital hours?

I just got an email saying I was accepted! My grades weren't the best but I think my essay really helped! Also, does anyone know if there is a group chat for this cohort?

TEAS: 85.3

Overall GPA: 3.4

Science GPA: 3.3

Hello if you don't mind sharing what was your personal statement about? I am trying to write one for the next application cycle and I want to do as well as I can.

Sure! Hopefully, it can help you. I actually applied for the Summer 2023 start and did not get in. I was really upset by that, but I did not give up. After retaking my TEAS (and increasing the overall score by 6% points), I reapplied for the Fall 2023 start, and was successful! I am now about to start my last semester and I will graduate in December 2024. Each class that has a clinical rotation has about 90 hours of hospital/clinical hours. Classes that have clinical rotations are Adult 1, 2, 3, Mental Health/Psych, Pediatrics, OB, Pop health, and Capstone. Good luck and keep on going after your dreams.

Overall GPA- 3.15

Pre-Req GPA- 3.62

Science GPA- 3.86

TEAS 7 overall -88%

Math-100%

Science-94%

Hey Guys,

Im applying to UTMB and didn't know about this website until a few hours ago. I was wondering if y'all could look at my stats and let me know what my chances are of getting in.

I got an 85.3 for my TEAS.

My science GPA is 3.56 and my prerequisite GPA is 3.69.

Some other things I have is that I had two past medical mentorships and am currently a medical scribe at a psych facility.

Do y'all think that I should try to retake the TEAS?

hey did you get in?

Thank you so much! I applied for the 2025 Spring and submitted on the last day it was open since I was rushing to take the TEAS. The application cycle was extended from Spring to august 15 which was the day I applied. I think it will be a low chance of me getting in especially due to my GPA, what are your thoughts?

My stats:

Overall GPA: 3.67

Science GPA: 3.625

TEAS: 91.3

Math: 97.1

Science: 90.9
