Starting a thread for those applying to UT's AE-MSN program for 2023.
Hey guys,
I just found this forum so I know I'm late to the game LOL. Has anyone figured out if they were still interviewing? I interviewed in December, and was reading through previous year forums trying to see any "trends". Wishing everyone the best of luck as we try not to lose our sanity ?

My interview was on Thursday. I was originally a PMHNP applicant who was deferred to the LeaDS track, so my guess it that they did all of the interviews for people who were deferring or applying to both tracks last week, and that they're finished with interviews now. Based on previous trends, my assumption is they're reviewing applications and making decisions this week and will be emailing us either next week or the following week. That's what I'm hoping, at least!

Whoops - I meant my assumption is they're reviewing applications and making decisions next week (the week of the 30th) and reaching out to us the first week of Feb!
I looked through a lot of the past forums, and some of the FAQs on the AE-MSN website. What I gathered is that you have to be a resident at the time of application in order to be considered to pay "in state tuition". You also cannot have your status updated for tuition purposes, if your residency status changes during enrollment. Again, no expert on this so the most accurate answer would come from calling the financial department.
To be considered "in state" you have to live in Texas for 12 months and have to have established it as a residence - own property or work. If you're married or a dependent of a parent then you might be able to use their Texas resident status. If you aren't a resident your first year, it is possible to get resident status after you have been in Texas for a year.
Thank you so much, I will be applying next round and will be moving there this Summer for other reasons. Should I be accepted, I was trying to figure out if the 12 months starts at application or acceptance/ enrollment and if I didn't get the cut off, but was already living there would I at least be able to apply for in state the following hear. Maybe I will reach out to the finance department and find out. Thank you for responding!

Any advice on financial aid and scholarships? Do we have to wait for acceptance letter to start.
