Starting a thread for those applying to UT's AE-MSN program for 2023.
I think it is based on when you enroll for the semester. So, depending on when you move, you may or may not have it for the Summer, if not, you should have it for the fall semester. But still check with UT because so you know exactly what to do to correctly establish residency and document it!
Happy Friday! As we are all waiting/obsessively thinking about what is happening with admissions at UT, I was wondering what kinds of plans ya'll have should UT not work out--or if you have a first choice of nursing program ahead of UT? I'm especially curious about anyone considering UT Arlington's ABSN program, Texas A&M's ABSN, or other ae-MSN you have considered outside of Texas (I think the only other ae-MSN in the area is at Texas Lutheran and costs roughly 8 million dollars). I would love any and all insights from this thoughtful group of future nurses!

I'm currently dying at your 8 million dollar comment. LOL To be 100% honest, I'll probably turn down a spot if I am lucky enough to be offered one. My husband is in the military and we were fairly certain we were going to go to Fort Hood next (we're from the area) but the Army changed their minds last minute and now we're going to Georgia. I don't want to keep my daughter away from her dad for 3 years, and I don't particularly want to be away that long either. I'm technically enrolled in a MA in Clinical Mental Health program already, so I'll likely finish that while I'm in Georgia. I may apply to this program again in the future, but I have to follow Uncle Sam's rules for now. I'm still anxiously waiting to see who gets in though! I have my fingers crossed for all of you.

They told me first week of Feb so I was hoping it would be this week? Based on previous years, I feel like it has to be next week...
As far as other plans, I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do. I guess stay at my current job and wait to apply again until the next cycle! I took a handful of classes through Straighterline, so my only options this year were UT and UMinn. I only applied to UT because I'm praying for in-state tuition. If I am not admitted, I guess I'll have to retake a few courses and apply broadly. We will see...
I'm guessing we'll hear something on Monday, but you never know! That's my hope at least. If I don't get into UT, my next option is TAMU's ABSN program in Round Rock, followed by ACC's ADN program. I used up almost all of my financial aid/loan money with my first undergraduate, so I really need to get into the MSN program so I can take out graduate school loans! If I do TAMU, I'll have to finance independently since the federal government won't pay for another undergrad for me ? ACC would take 2 years for an associate's, but it's ridiculously cheap and I could do a bridge program from there. Kinda just waiting to see how Monday goes before I finish my TAMU application!

If I were you I would read the information on this page https://admissions.utexas.edu/residency
If it is still under call the number they have listed. That might be your best bet.
