The University of Texas at Austin | Alternate Entry Master of Science in Nursing (AE-MSN) 2023

Starting a thread for those applying to UT's AE-MSN program for 2023.

Y'all, I still haven't received any news. My application is still "in review" but now it says "LeaDS" as the track. Did anyone that was deferred to a different track have the new track added to their MyStatus page? In one of the emails, I was told that the track wouldn't be updated unless I was accepted. However, the fact that it still says "in review" makes me leery. Does anyone know how long they have to let us know their decision?

I was supposed to respond by Feb. 20, so probably after that there would be another round of acceptances. You could always email and ask what's going on with your application.

@AustinNative Well I was thinking of reaching out as well, but we were told in one of the communication emails not to email them about acceptance letters, or when it would roll out. So I thought I would ask her incase anyone had insight.

@ssharmonie I was deferred to LeaDS from PMHNP and mystatus page also updated to LeaDS a little before I received my acceptance letter. I was also told that mystatus would not update unless you have been admitted. Hang in there, im sure you have good news on the way! ????

@LeeahG Thank you for the glimmer of hope ? I am trying my best to hang in there!

Same as @LeeahG! I was deferred from PMHNP and saw they added the LeaDs track to MyStatus before I was accepted. It said "In Review" for a while afterwards, but it later updated to Admitted. I'd say it's a good sign and to keep the faith!

@kemlag Ahhh okay, I'm going to continue to bite my nails, and try to be as patient as possible LOL. Thank you both for responded, it's really appreciated.

Hey do y'all know if the school of nursing gives scholarships/ fellowship opportunities?

Yes there are scholarships/fellowships. Here's the website https://nursing.utexas.edu/academics/graduate/financial-support

The scholarship application closes March 20th.

I got in to LeaDS! Ahhh the wait was worth it, I'm so excited. Thanks for the encouragement and advice to remain patient guys.

@ssharmonie Congratulations!! So happy for you ?

@maaz Hey there,

Could you provide some insight about orientation? I know things may differ for the 2023 cohort, but I wanted to know if it's a full week? I read in a past forum that it was the last week in May, was that the case for you?
