  1. Hi! Looking to get into the facebook group ? I'm a current AE student and wanting to share some stuff w y'all! Could someone help me get access to it? (Nvm LOL just got in! Thanks @AustinNative!)
  2. Hey! Orientation was 2-3 days. May 25-May 27, 2022, where school started the following week, on 6/2. I moved back to Austin on 5/24 and gave myself a week to re-orient myself to the city + get some school stuff in order. It worked out well and I didn't feel too rushed.
  3. Hiya! I didn’t do a group interview because I was out of state. I did mine via Zoom! I’m not sure what questions were asked, but in my history of group interviews for other jobs/positions, it’s always important to be genuine, but also find ways to stand out. Interviewers can see when you’re telling them what you think they want to hear. Make friends during your interview, be attentive to others, and help each other create a safe space to explore why y’all are choosing nursing/UTAEMSN (:
  4. In everything, be yourself and show why you are passionate about nursing. Show your SOP/CV to people you trust and people (friends/fam, mentors, managers, professors) who you know will give you detailed feedback. If you have a career advising office at your previous school, they would be a solid resource in reviewing those documents. Don't expect others to tell you what they were asked in their interview. Instead, start looking at Youtube videos and jotting down nursing school interview questions. Take time to ponder those questions and formulate responses. As you do more videos/questions, your individuality will shine through and things won't sound so reheorificed. As for the application process, keep a calendar and be vigilant about incoming emails. Last but not least, what's meant for you is already yours! Trust yourself!! I had a solid interview but the waiting game for decisions was so tough. I feared the rejection but I knew deep down that nursing was meant for me ?
  5. Hi friends and future AEs! I'm gonna check this thread every now and then to see how y'all are doing. A little about me... First year AE in LeaDS Out of state applicant, low undergrad GPA and average GRE, and 4.0 pre-req UT neuro for undergrad Previous work history as a medical assistant x 4 years Though I struggled in undergrad, I'm doing great in this program! Good luck this app cycle ❤️
  6. Hey! Current first-year AE student here. Here's my schedule: Mondays 8am-3pm Tuesdays 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm (this class is asynchronous) Wednesday 8-12pm (open lab) Thursday 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm (async again) Friday 10-12pm There's about 4-5 half-day activities throughout the semester. Kind of like a field trip.
  7. Hi! I got accepted into LeaDS. My CV wasn't anything crazy. Here's the outline of what mine looked like: Objective Education All Work Experience (I was an MA x 5 years and even included my time working at Chick Fil A and Raising Cane's) All Volunteering Experience (even if it was just 3 months over the Summer!) Professional Memberships & Honors (I just had one LOL) Licenses and Certifications (I had Stop The Bleed and CPR/BLS)
  8. Hey, thank you!! I was not placed on the waiting list but I was given a deadline of 2/25 to decline/accept!
  9. I just got into LeaDS! I'm so so so hyped to meet everyone and can't wait to start this journey with y'all! S/O to everyone on here for the support through this ride hahaha. Do you think they'll make me do what I dreamt about that one time, and make me play basketball? LOL
  10. No ? Still "in review". I sorted out this forum and it looks like 6 people from LeaDS have received acceptances, and there are about 8-10 of LeaDS of us who haven't heard back (or have not reported an outcome)!! Still so much hope!
  11. Good morning from California! Checking in to say I have not yet heard back yet for LeaDS.
  12. I'm curious because I'm so so nervous still hahahah--Has anyone found out any other decision besides an acceptance? I fear saying those other words too soon haha..... (I am still waiting for an update ?)
