An elderly Floridian called 911 on her cell phone to report that her car has been broken into. She is hysterical as she explains her situation to the dispatcher: "They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal, and even the accelerator!" she cried. The dispatcher said, "Stay calm. An officer is on the way." A few minutes later, the officer radios in. "Disregard," he says "She got in the back seat by mistake."

Sounds a bit like my 91-year-old-mom in Miami. Caught her last year aiming the portable phone at the TV and pushing some of the numbers.

Took her a couple of minutes to figure out what was going on.

:rotfl: Yes, unfortunately, it is all too true. Some of that hsppens with me from time to time too. Some of the absent minded things are funny.

But if you would like to have yourselves a good laugh, I would suggest you read the thread, "Christmas With Louise." It is very very funny, and it's located in the Jokes and Funny Stories section.
