So I've been applying to various BSN programs and one of the schools called today saying due to my GPA [transferring in] I could get a grant of $8k...keeping the faith! After the week I've had with my job saying they were closing as of December 31...this was beyond unexpected.... Grateful!

Was it the nursing department or financial aid that called you? Have you been accepted into the program? Just curious...as it seems odd. Grants are fine but watch out when borrowing money for school.

Yes, please be cautious. This is one of the most successful sales tactics used by commercial schools. But if you're dealing with a traditional (not for profit) school, you're golden!
Best of luck on your educational journey

I agree. Please be careful. Also, make sure the school is accredited or run away faster than a speeding bullet!

Congrats! I am also going to say be careful and look into the program that it is accredited aka be accepted as a true BSN program by the state board of nursing. Good luck!
Hi! It was actually the financial aid office, and yes I was accepted into the program!
Thank you! All the schools in my area are accredited! We have one of the top hospitals in the nation for nurses!
