The panic before the storm

Published

I am in Massachusetts. It snows here. Typically a lot. And gets cold. We are expecting snow Saturday night into Sunday, maybe 6-12" in Boston, more in the Northern and Western suburbs. Blizzard conditions with the wind. Anyway, wouldn't you know there is already mass pandemonium at the grocery store (I park in their lot every day). Also, the hardware stores selling out of shovels and ice melt. We live in New England people. How are you only just now figuring out snow melt and a shovel are a good thing to own?!

My school is already going crazy about possible snow day on Tuesday. Snow will likely be cleared up by then but parents are already calling. Like they expect the admin to make a call NOW for Tuesday, LOL.

OK I'm done. Carry on with your day. Happy Friday everyone!

both storms were a big whomp whomp here but i am okay with that!! Snow days are at their finest when used up at the end of the school year on beautiful days! Now that's really a perk to school nursing!!

We got the snow in Chicago! My car was trapped all weekend because of no plowing & I street park. It's a nice sloshy mess now!

We are in Chicago also... but I went out of town this weekend. Drove up to my friend's place in Michigan on Friday morning. Snow didn't arrive there until Saturday. I left to drive home on Sunday evening and the roads in Michigan were fine. The roads in Illinois were fine. The small stretch through Indiana was a nightmare! Do they own a single snow plow for the whole state?? I was so scared driving on the highway, kept hitting the rumble strips because I couldn't tell where the lanes were! Ug. I was glad it was the smallest portion of my drive!

Yes, 4" which was great, but then covered in ice and frozen solid. My school where I work was closed yesterday b/c the heat on the fourth floor was broken, not because of the ice.
