Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.
Quote"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."
Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

It's not surprising. The elected liberal elites don't give a you know what about us regular folks.
As far as Trump not conceding, in 2020 we didn't have a winner on election night.

I could imagine it was hard to concede to a "fascist dictator". I wonder why she would give a "fascist dictator" who will "destroy our Democracy " a congratulation phone call? Unless she doesn't believe that's the case. Nonetheless, it was a graceful move.
I think you're both being catty.
That's okay at least you aren't ugly about it.
Despite that she didn't give her supporters a thank you speech until the next day, she was indeed graceful in what is a devastating defeat not just for her but all of us that voted for her. Her acceptance of a true and fair election was a stark contrast to Trump's lies that his loss was rigged.
I'm also talking about the fact that he never conceded.
But again moot points. Congratulations

It seems Bernie Sanders agrees with you. His statements stand in contrast in how the oligarchy reacted so positively with Trump's election and people like Elon Musk's influence.
QuoteIt should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them," Sanders wrote. "First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well."
He chastised Democratic leadership for defending "the status quo" while Americans "are angry and want change."
"Will the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party learn any real lessons from this disastrous campaign? Will they understand the pain and political alienation that tens of millions of Americans are experiencing? Do they have any ideas as to how we can take on the increasingly powerful Oligarchy which has so much economic and political power? Probably not," Sanders wrote.

I am being a little catty. I have unresolved feelings of being categorized as a racist fascist cult victim for 8 years. (Not by you)
I'm a little sore that a primary campaign strategy by both Harris and Biden and most democrats involved narratives such as "Trump is a fascist, racist, Nazi like dictator........ that if elected will destroy our democracy......" Only for Harris and Biden to congradulate Trump. Which was very classy of him especially when Trump did not even conceded to Biden.
To me it rings disingenuous. Both the accusations and the congratulations After all, why would anyone congradulate at fascist dictator? I guess they were trying to win. Again, I think this type of narrative cist them the election.
I'm sore about not being able to discuss such things as Jan 6 and immigration without being categorized as a racist domestic terrorist. Regardless of what actually happened on Jan.6 we as Americans should have been able to freely discuss without having our social media suspended and in some cases doxxed.
Anyway. I'm rambling. I hope Trump will do good for all Americans. Just asbi would have for Harris.

It's just decorum and being a good sport. The loser congratulates the winner, in sports, in business and when transferring power from one President to the other. Obama invited Trump to the White House after Trump won the first time, do you think Obama was sincere? Hillary called Trump to congratulate him. Do you think she meant it? Even she delayed a bit saying it wasn't a phone call she wanted to make, but she did it.
No matter how ugly a contest gets, the loser politician sucks it up and makes a congratulatory call. The DeSantis has been called twice.
You're not hearing calls that the election was fraudulent, stolen or calls to storm the capital in protest. I look at the call and concession as healing to the losers.

True about the lack of calls of fraudulent stolen elections by the democrats. They already set the president that this is as bad a treason and a threat to our democracy. Anyvquestingbif a democratic process is a domestic threat.
Yes. No calls to peacfully and patriotically make you voice heard.
Wink, wink. ❤️ 💙

* correction. For 4 yrs. I voted Biden 2020

You might have to tell me what the typo "Anyvquestingbif" is supposed to mean.
I will agree that "treason, a threat to democracy, fascist" are strong words and political rhetoric. What I also will say that someone that loses an election and claims it to be fraudulent and lies about it does not believe in American Democracy and is no patriot.
For four years I've been scratching my head that this isn't a big deal to many Americans. But we can drop it now. Years from now I still won't understand this chapter.
He said the only way she would win was by cheating, and she didn't cheat. We all believe in Democracy that he won fair and square.
I made no mention of making one's voice heard, so not sure what the wink wink is for. What I said was hearing it from her that she is conceding was healing. It drove in the fact that she unlike Trump believes in Democracy. It drove in the fact that we must accept the defeat and stay optimistic for our country. It was a great speech and she has nothing to feel regretful about.

If they really thought that Trump was going to be a dictator, with comparisons to Hitler, and was going to use the military against those who disagree, and all the other BS, then screw decorum and being a good sport. They should be screaming about what a dangerous man he is.
But, it was all just fear mongering and rhetoric. And, with the media's help it worked to some extent. My 79 year old mother is terrified. The fear mongering folks are awful people.

Some people are still saying that, but I would disagree that Harris or Biden should be the ones. They are doing the right thing and putting down their arms and surrendering. It's how it should be done. We can agree to disagree on that.
I might add that before the nomination Republicans, including his VP pick and much of his former staff (some in jail) have said similar awful things about him. When he won, they did an about face.
Trump brought on a lot of this himself with his own brand of fear based rhetoric. For example he said "I think the bigger problem are the people from within. We have some very bad people. We have some sick people. Radical left lunatics, I think it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can't let that happen,”
Calling immigrants "vermin destroying the blood of our country, they're destroying the fabric of our country..." were considered similar to writings of Hitler. Allegedly he made comments to staff "Hitler did some good things too......".
These kinds of things are rife for starting some of the things that were said about him. Can you blame the left for making some stretches and publicizing that especially during a campaign?
I'm sorry your mother is "terrified". I'm hearing more "I can't believe he won...." and I'm seeing a lot of hurt, anger and disappointment in my social circles, but not a lot of fear per se.
As for me, I'm not feeling fear but definitely dreading these next four years.
