The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
How to Apply for a Scholarship
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
Scholarship requirements:
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
Nursing (including RN, ADN, BSN, and graduate-level nursing programs)
Nurse Practitioner
Certified Nurse-Midwife
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
Scholarship award covers:
Tuition and Eligible Fees
A monthly stipend for living expenses
An annual other reasonable costs payment

my analyst's initials are jj iii. anyone else have him? i sent him an email and called him but no response. very frustrated, i just want him to confirm if he received my documents.....that"s all! i live in ny but going to florida for nursing.
yea i have him as well...i spoke to him twice b4 i faxed over my documents, now i cant reach him. im going to give him a couple of days because im sure he is swamped.
i just recv'd an email regarding calling and emailing the reps for clarification...
they said please do not call or email, and we will be notified by august 23, not july 31th because of the high volume of applicants.
due to the high volume of applicants please do not call for a status update or to inquire if documents were received. status updates will not be provided by phone or email. if selected for an award, we will contact you for any missing documents.
i just recieved this email and i was never notified that my application was under review.....i've been chcking everyday so i'm wondering if everyone that appiled got this new email or just the one's that were selected as candidates? please repond let me know if you did not get the email....maybe my 1st email got kicked back for some reason????

i got that email about 45 minutes ago, but i did get the initial email. it showed up a day later than everyone else's and in my spam! so i would take that as very good news.
I got the new email about the change in dates and the request not to call twice. They did not hide the email addresses and each one had a little over 150 email addresses that it was sent to! (Is the fact I counted indicative that I have no life...?)

Did you ever recieve the 1st email???? I'm trying to see if anyone got the new email without ever recieving the initail email with all the paper work. I never got that email and wondering if I should have.....I was having email problems Monday morning so maybe they sent it but I never got it???? HELP

Has anyone still not rec'd the alternate/receipient email that started going out Monday??
I have rec'd the 1st email but not the updated one yet....wondering if they are sending the update email to applicants who are inquiring about their documents being rec'd via email?

I read through the 2009/2010b thread and found none. also posted in the general nursing asking the same thing, with no response. :)
