The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

is it weird that the form says to have it back before the 30th of july and then also mentions decisions will be made by the 30th?? the bureau of clinician recruitment and service, health resources and services administration will determine scholarship recipients by july 30, 2010.
confusing.....
Also, for those that haven't rec'd an email....the time on my email was 7:11 am, however, I didn't get it until 1:45....figure in East Coast/West Coast time (I am in Oregon). But it definetly hung out in "email space" for most of the day. Has anyone called to see if all emails have been sent out??
Well, my program is 10 credits per semester as well, but my school considers it full time. When we sent in the supplemental forms, the one the school had to fill out asked if the student is considered full time, so the scholarship probably has you down like that.
This was also the case at my school. I was ready to send it in, thinking I wouldn't be in the first round of funding, and when I went to the registrar to get the form filled out they corrected it and said my program is considered full time.

this is why i made sure i faxed my documents with ample time to spear...
Ok, so for those asking about confirmation that they received our faxes...I just called the HRSA call center and the representative told me that they cannot provide confirmation of receipt of supplemental documents?!?!?!?!?! So who do I contact. The place I faxed it from didn't give me a confirmation page.

I emailed my analyst asking if we'd be able to get confirmation of receipt of the paperwork fax at some point (very casually - I know they are swamped and tracking down our faxes is the last thing they probably want to do right now) and she said that yes, once she got a chance to look through them she could let me know that mine was in order.
Be patient with the analysts. They have a million (give or take a few hundred thousand ) people half-panicked at the moment clamoring for their attention - and they likely do have work to do besides just customer service for all of us and our fax woes. So if you call and voicemail and email and OMG get no response the same day - patience, grasshoppers. There are ten days until the deadline. Give them one (or maybe even two) to get back to you.
These are the people who are going to be in charge of your money for the next few years if you get the award. Treat them nicely.
