The HRSA Nursing Scholarship

Updated:   Published

The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.

How to Apply for a Scholarship

If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.

HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.

All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.

The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.

Scholarship requirements:

To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Nursing (including RN, ADN, BSN, and graduate-level nursing programs)
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife

You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.

Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.

Scholarship award covers:

  • Tuition and Eligible Fees
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses
  • An annual other reasonable costs payment

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Did you just get it like now or was it already there and you just saw it?

Alright I have an odd question. When I submitted my application the person at the call center told me to go ahead and do the banking information. So now I can't get a receipt to send th. Anyone else have this problem?

Patty I got it at 6PM eastern time.

Hey was anyone elses kinda disorderly? I mean I got a blank email (with just the analysts signature and info) with 4 attachments, one was the letter, one was the contract, one was the W4, and one was the instructions. Also it says to respond by the 30th, but it also says they will decide by the 30th...they have some rough organization skills!!

They could, perhaps, decide by the 30th even if they're waiting on your confirming documents. I mean, I'm pretty sure most of us sent them back with a big "YES YES PLEASE" checked on the confirmation page, I'd feel pretty safe if I was them making decisions even with paperwork pending. Especially since they're making a list of alternates, too - as soon as the 30th hits, find out who didn't get their paperwork in, pull from the alternates list, and voila! Finalists. They could notify everyone on the 1st easily with enough people to handle the paperwork. (Though, I don't personally think they will.)

DCoffill Mine was the same way. And I was checking from my iphone so all I could see was like the HRSA seal and my contacts info.

I got my email at 8:16 am. I live in GA, 0 EFC, first degree, BSN at a public university. Good luck everyone!!!

DCofill-

I only had 3 attachments, but my email had a letter instead of just being blank. So I guess one of your attachments is what the email was supposed to say.

Let's pray and hope we all get this scholarship!!!!!!!!

sunraygurlRN2B,

Yes, it's my first time applying. I wanted to apply last year, but I missed the deadline for the paperwork because I was starting the program last August and my program wasn't going to send program acceptances until mid-June.

What about you?

Why do you have more than 5 pages? There's 1 page for the letter, 2 pages for the contract (the 3rd page they sent was blank), 1 page for the W4 (the 2nd page was just a worksheet for you to figure out the numbers) and 1 page for the bank receipt. Am I missing something?
