The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

I feel very blessed to be able to pay for school without the scholarship. Reading all of your posts has made it MUCH easier to deal with not getting it. Don't get me wrong... we need it... My husband and I are both full time students pursuing nursing degrees and we have four children. My husband has been working from home for his mother's business, the contract that paid our bills fell completely apart just over a month ago and we have not made any money since then. For two years my husband has said if we can just get to the point we're at now, with me beginning the actual nursing program, that we will limp across the finishline! If that means not making the house payment and battling forclosure... we will do that right up until graduation. By the grace of God, my tuition is covered by Pell Grant, student loans, and a couple of small scholarships. We can't see how we will be able to keep the lights on for the next two years, but man is worth it in the end! As long as that tuition bill is paid, we will figure out a way to make it through. The end result is the stability and fullfillment that we had given up hoping for until I went back to school.
We have to remind ourselves often to just keep our eye on the prize and know that we will have plenty of time to recover from our "battle wounds" when we have graduated and made it to the other side.
My heart truly goes out to each and everyone of you! I look forward to the support and we have found here throughout school.
I try and remind myself of this as well.... Where there is a will, there is a way. We will all persevere and we will all make it. I got a little teary eyed reading your post. Your kids, your husband, must be very proud. You both have a wonderful attitude, especially in the face of resistance. Take care and Good Luck.
When I asked my analyst about graduate program, she said that the funds are usually gone after the first preference group. They do not give scholarships for FNP. She said that if I wanted to give my time on a partime bases I could do that, I would just have to request it. She wanted to make sure that with the information she gave me I still wanted the scholarship and I said YES! I am planning on working full time while getting my FNP anyway, and where I live there is nothing but facilities approved by the HRSA, so I will be able to give them two years anywhere I work in this city.
Geeze, this is gonna be a long weekend!
HRSA actually has a separate scholarship, similar to this one, for MD and DO programs, dentistry programs, FNP or CNW programs and PA programs:
I haven't read about it much in terms of eligibility requirements but it seems like the same process as this scholarship.
FTstudentFTmom...I agree with you 100%. Last year when my family was just struggling to get by, it was difficult to see any light. Now still struggling with the same issues, my husband and I alsways say its not so bad no that I started school and there is and end date in site! At least theres that right, I love how you put it as to "limp across the finish line" thats exactly what it feels like. This scholarship is not my "make or break me" fact of nursing school but boy would it mean the world. I have to put my two kids in daycare and im not quite sure where that money is gonna come from yet. Speaking of childcare, any body know of any programs that help with daycare? I know there is state aide but I guess there is like a year waiting list.

Sorry for asking again but I can't keep up with credit checks. Was yours checked?

Yes, I have looked into them as well. I am already commited to this one if I get it... So, the other ones would not be worth it for me. I was just wondering if I could use this one for graduate school since I was only gonna get it for 1 year. Thats what my email was asking her. Thank you though!
