The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

I can still modify mine so I don'tthink i'll get anything by next week. BTW, still no credit report pulled and no answers from my analyst or the "nice" lady.
I can still modify mine too. Please don't give up yet bc no one really knows for certain if they will notify any of us by Monday. The website still says Sept 30th.
Joe and JoeNurse... I hate to bring "bad" news... but based on the information I got from the phone call I made today, she has pulled all the credit she needs to pull and received docs from everyone she needs them from. Clearly we are alternates and not finalists. I wouldn't expect to hear anything on Monday. I think our only chance is if people don't accept the scholarship.
I am completely okay with this, like I said before, it takes the pressure off of the grad school decision. I just find it frustrating that I will never know "why?"
Anywho... Congrats to those who get it! My husband says I need to stay off of this forum! LOL I'm going to try, lol, but it will be difficult. I would like to see those of you that I have been following for weeks get the news!
For those of us who don't get it, don't forget how blessed we are to be in nursing school!! It is a major achievement that has taken a lot of hard work and dedication. Many of us are parents, and that adds a whole other level of complication and dedication. Congratulations future nurses!! For some of us school starts Monday... time to get back in the saddle and buckle down!! :)

What did they tell you? I have called the call center and everyone one that I can and no one will tell me anything...everyone always says they don't know anything and that they are in a different building...I am sorry the news they gave you was discouraging but just remember...it is not over...I wish you the best of luck and know you will make it no matter what...yes the scholarship is great but it is not necessary to become a great nurse...
I wonder if they awarded everyone in the first funding group first. From a prior post, there were only 700 finalists (which is weird, there were less than 500 in the last 2 years). At least a handful of those must have fallen into each of the 2nd and 3rd funding groups which would have left probably not much more than 500 in the 1st. In that case just about every one of us in the first funding group (I'm in the first funding preference as well) should have been awarded. Seems funny that 3+ of us on here are the ones not selected seeing as I am fairly certain that there are plenty of people that applied that are not on this website.
It is super frustrating not knowing how they selected the awardees. I know for sure that all my paperwork was square and my LOR's strong. If I don't get it though you can bet your sweet a** I'm not jumping through these hoops next year. Not only is this whole process mysterious and aggravating but I will certainly not sign for 2 years of service for only one year of support, I feel that's just downright stupid. Sadly though, they probably awarded people that fit into that category first.
Lastly, If there weren't that many more applicants than they had awards available, they could have just reduced the amount of each award by a percentage so they could award everyone that qualifies. I mean think about it the stipend is huge as well as FULL TUITION. Sh1t, I'd be happy to get half that if it meant we would all get it to help us through.
Anyways, good luck to all. If I don't get it I'll just take a job and go straight for my grad degree after my BSN. Who knows, maybe it's happening this way for a reason so that I can steamroll straight though the grad program without any hangups. While it would make life simpler in the short term, it's all good. I'm done worrying about it. If it happens; great. If not, I'll do just as well in the longrun.
In any case, we will find out soon enough.
P.S. - Which analyst said they had all the credit pulled that they needed?

I applied for the scholarship and only have a year left. I don't really feel it is stupid considering I am a single mother having to take out loans in order to pay for school. 40000 worth of loans already from things that I have done I think I'd rather have to work for 2 years since I will be working anyways then take out more loans to be able to live and go to school....But not everyone has the same mentality as me.

The direction I was going with that it that I think it is unwise to tie oneself down for 2 years if your only going to get 1 year of support out of it but that's just me. To each their own I suppose. In your case maybe it works out better, but remember that if you take it for only one year then you are ineligible for the loan repayment program where you might have made out better (with the loan repayment program) had you declined the one year of NSP support.
be careful not to count your live or dead chickens before they have hatched, good luck!
From what I gather, They are pulling credit on everyone that they planned on giving it to unless they are only spot checking (but I do not have any evidence to backup that this is the case or not). If that is truly the case then those of us who haven't had our credit pulled have not been selected. I see what your saying but from what the others in my same position are suggesting, I must concur that their logic is sound.
