The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Go here...it should work...and it really is FREE...no catches...AnnualCreditReportYou're entitled to it once every year but seen those that use it more than once a year...
Yes, I know its free, but unfortunately, I have already used all my free reports sometime in the last year. I can't remember when exactly I did it, but it keeps telling me its not time yet. Thanks anyway.
Oh well, either they checked my credit or they didn't. Either I'll get an acceptance letter or I won't. Can't change it, so I guess I'll just wait it out.
What do you mean your not on her list? Did you talk to her? Did she send you the original email?
Yes. I received the original email. I called to verify that she'd received my documents and she told me I wasn't on her list. I asked her what that meant and she caught herself and told me that I'd know either way in October. I also spoke with JV who basically confirmed that if I wasn't on MC's list, then I was probably an alternate for the region. Still no credit check.
This is pure speculation, but I'm beginning to wonder if the awards are being allocated partially based on geographic location. According to a 2004 report commissioned by HRSA (ftp://ftp.hrsa.gov/bhpr/nursing/nurptsummary.pdf), Oregon falls right in the middle of the spectrum with approximately 850-1000 nurses per 100k people. In comparison, TX and CA have approximately 603-750 nurses per 100k, with quickly growing populations.
I'm attending a top-ten program that happens to have a focus on underserved communities. I have a 0 EFC and a 3.7 cumulative GPA (4.3 in nursing prerequisites). It surprises me that I'm in the bottom 20% of applicants. But then again, maybe I just have an inflated sense of self-worth! However, being an alternate would make much more sense to me if I was competing for, say, one of three spots in Oregon. (I just pulled that number out of nowhere).
Cheers and best of luck in the final sprint!
I think every analyst is using their own process....I know that we've have someone who had their credit pulled on 7/7 and a lot of people who have had their credit pulled this month...and I think we will probably have more people see their credit checked over the next month. Keep praying!!
I honestly don't think we will have any answers by the end of August....
ok, so i just found this thread and im concerned b/c i met all of the 1st level qualifications and i never received an email or anything. I do not have a case analyst and i'm calling them this moring to find out what's going on.. Truth is without this scholarship I am going to have to drop out of nursing school. I'm in my 1st semester now and the program tuition is extremely too high for me at this point to complete the program without some serious financial help. I'm already in a tremendous debt from my previous 2 yrs of studying psychology... I feel sad:(
