I traditionally have a thread heading to the election, here we go.
Get out the popcorn for this one.
QuoteFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to formally announce next week he is running for president in 2024, NBC News reported Thursday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
The governor's official entry into the Republican primary field will put him head-to-head with former President Donald Trump, the party's current frontrunner for the nomination. Trump has already spent months treating DeSantis as his primary campaign rival, thrashing him with torrents of criticism over his gubernatorial record, his political skills and his personality.

I think that like many, They think Hamas has the right to do what they are doing.
Omar has made several antisemitic pro Islamic extremist statements. "Some people did something" is how she referred to the Islamic terrorist who did 9/11. The other refused to condem chants of "death to america" a well known terrorist phrase.

Or maybe it's just some people did something....
Sure.
You probably just don't actually know that the support is for the people of Palestine and not Hamas. Your media choices must have let you down again. Now that you know, I'm sure you won't try to mischaracterize that support again, right?

It was interesting to see how some new stations were reporting the protests on college campuses. I heard "pro-Palestinian protests" mostly, but Fox News was saying "antisemitic protests".

I don't know many people that are supportive of Hamas attacking Israel and taking hostages. Some might be saying that Israel brought it on themselves. It's complicated. But I do think they are naive in that Hamas is a terrorist organization that since its existence and claimed destruction of Israel was its goal and giving them sympathy is misguided. But again, I'd venture to say most people, including myself have some sympathy for the innocent civilians that Israel is brutalizing and this is what they are protesting.
Omar is barely a blip on my radar, but I do know she's made several statements about Israel that have been deemed antisemitic. I wasn't familiar with the controversy over her 9/11 remarks but it does sound like a bit cherry picking out of context.
"So 9/11 was an attack on all Americans. It was an attack on all of us and I certainly could not understand the weight of the pain that the victims of the families of 9/11 must feel, but I think it is really important for us to make sure that we are not forgetting the aftermath of what happened after 9/11,” she said Sunday. "Many Americans found themselves now having their civil rights stripped from them, and so what I was speaking to was the fact that as a Muslim, not only was I suffering as an American who was attacked on that day, but the next day I woke up as my fellow Americans were now treating me as a suspect.”

I'm not understanding the connection of what one congressperson says about the topic at hand though.
Tlaib who is also barely a blip on my radar refused to talk to a Fox News reporter because she doesn't like Fox News so they spread the news that she refused to condemn the chants when she refused to make a statement to them. Really it's a stupid question to a congress person and was just bait.
Even before the war polls were showing a shift towards sympathies towards Palestine and support of a two-state policy. Polls are now showing that a good deal of Americans think Israel has gone too far. Biden has taken notice of course.

I'm going to pull a baloney and default to Trump. He is expected to actively denounce extremist and when he does it's not soon enough or not thee right way. I give Talib the same expectation. Why can't she condem chants of "death to America" regardless of who's asking or not? Seems pretty straight forward to me. She knows a large group of her constituents are in fact sympathetic to Islamic terrorism so she doesnt want to alienate them.

Support like this?
"Support for Hamas Terror at Anti-Israel Rallies Across the U.S."
https://www.adl.org/resources/blog/support-hamas-terror-anti-israel-rallis-across-us
Is this considered extremism? Or extremist are only people who vote Trump or think that there were some irregularities in a election that happened like none other? These open gestures of terrorist support just little good 'ol first amendment? Some of these terrorist sympathizers openly praise Nazis too. Are they MAGA?

Of course there are extremists who hate Jews and who hate Israel.
Trump supporters aren't the only extremists in the USA but they are the largest extremist group and their cult leader represents a clear threat to our republic.
MAGA cult members generally identify themselves early on in interactions. Sometimes they wear identifying bling or accessories. Some of them carry nazi flags or use that famous straight hand salute.

I agree, she should have put aside her disdain for Fox News and simply said yes and move on. I was just doing a deeper dive about the accusation that simply said she refused to condemn it. She did but she had her reasons.

Those aren't pro Hamas rallies, but cherry picking out some of the statements of people there. Many of them are Palestinian-American groups such as " Colorado Palestine Coalition", "Palestinian Youth Movement", etc. so it would be obvious which side they would throw their support behind.
I acknowledge it's a blurry line between those concerned for Israel's brutality before and after being attacked and supporting the attackers.
Still, I maintain that many of the people protesting America's involvement and support of Israel are concerned about the civilians. But the "resistance is not terrorism" idea is naive. Islam clearly is a religion that condones terrorism and to endorse terrorism is an extremist idea.

Ahhhh. So? Seems to be there are very good people on both sides of the Isreal/Palastine conflict? Except the terrorists and terrorists sympathizers. They should be condemed totally. Right?
The difference is, the squad has yet to condem the terrorist and Biden is vague on it as well. Still wants to keep the terrorist sympathizers vote.in which they are not impressed with genocide Joe.
The "cult" leader managed to condem the extremist that according to you makes him complicit in their ideology.
What does that say for Biden and the squad?
The majority of Trump supporters are not confused like "cult" members. They worship Jesus . However to an extremist like you, Christians are worse than terrorist. It seems you sympathize with a terrorist over a "MAGA" (whatever that means).

Yeah and terrorist sympathizers openly carry Nazi symbols and imagery.
Jacksonville automotive store raises Nazi flag in protest of Palestinian-Israeli conflict
Using ypur logic, Biden and the squad have not explicitly condemed the terrorist/Nazi sympathizers so it makes them complicit. And if they did, it still doesn't matter, they are complicit. (they have NOT). If someone votes for Biden, that means they are pro-nazi/terrorist sympathizer. Right??

I looked up at the TV while on the treadmill as Fox News was on and the tag line was something about Gen Z influencers "flocking" to support Trump.
They showed a video of him on the popular podcast of Paul Logan. I don't know if Mr. Logan was flocking to support him but rather just giving him an interview as I'm not interested in watching it. Logan has a huge presence on YouTube.
I don't know which other influencers are flocking to Trump.

While Trump was hobnobbing with a YouTube influencer, Biden was hobnobbing in Hollywood with Obama and raised a record amount.
