I'm going to give some positive feedback. I first want to give my opinion regarding the negativity you have been receiving. I am only an LPN and have been for 16 yrs. I also am in school pursing my RN. So a two fold view from the negative responders. First I believe their obstenence is ill-founded. As maybe each has forgotten the demands of caring for a family, working and pursuing a higher education. But the flip side is each may feel that while you are needing this interview completed, the effort that is taken is all that will be produced.

I am in school while my husband is gone for two weeks at a time. So to say I don't know the demands of caring for a family while pursuing higher education is just bologna. While it might be true for some, why don't you peruse the forum some & see the many post about women going to school & raising a family.

Why should anyone do her homework for her when she just dumps & runs? She just made this account to get her homework answered, it's clear if you look at her profile. She has 1 post, this one & that's it.

If the instructor wanted her to interview a nurse, how would posting on a public forum be the correct way to do it? She has to have a reference. What reference would she put down? AllNurses? I'm sure that wouldn't go over very well with said instructor.

We get a lot of students that come on her & want answers to homework without doing any work or want to interview a nurse. Unfortunately, if they want to be a nurse they have to learn how to do work.

But the flip side is each may feel that while you are needing this interview completed, the effort that is taken is all that will be produced. Nurses as a whole feel deeper, think harder, seek longer and expect any brothers or sisters to be of like mind. Our career choice is not a paycheck, it is a way of living. Blah blah blah.

Now a piece of constructive criticism. If you are seeking thought provoking suitable answers. It may help if you ask others if they are willing to answer(it's polite). And secondly, if you want qualified answers you should produce proper questions with correct spelling and grammar.

Yes there is a shortage, my opinion is the root cause is the cohort of aging "baby boomers". This is creating a large demand at present but I am concerned that the focus of nursing is being shifted by our media and people as gaining quantity not quality. I also worry that as the next generation passes many nurses will find themselves unemployed once the demand is reduced. So all should consider having a back up and/or specializing. Regarding your questions as a whole. I must first give my opinion of a nurse. It is my brain that continually seeks to learn, adapt and enhance my skills and knowledge. But it is my soul (spirit, heart) that leads me to become better in humanity from humanity. With pure nursing one does not view a statistic, listen to media or feel a solution. We serve ourselves by always serving others. Age does not change who we are. Our advanced nurses will become the leaders of the new. Continue to remain mindful that we don't care for a computer or politic but we care for our own flesh. Every encounter creates meaning and purpose. This is nursing. This is also what the other responses sought to teach you. It is only by actively seeking human responses to your questions, will you gain insight of the practice of living by loving. These answers cannot be typed. Nurses treat and care for each person in the present. It is only by seeking and seeing a nurse in person that you will find the answers. The only way for improvement is in person. The gov, media and industries can continue spinning their facts, stats, tax breaks, and incentives. But I will do as always continue to create my legacy from giving my all to help others. Good luck to you. Wish you the best.

I am a single mom caring for my son. I do know the pressures quite well as I am entering my second year of a RN program. I would never think to come on here and ask other nurses to do my work for me. You say you are a LPN. I'm sure you are, but one cannot come to an anonymous website and take this for granted. If it turns out you are an 18 year old boy behind that computer screen, this person's information is invalid. Whether this is supposed to be a person interviewing a nurse or completing a research project, the information obtained on here in not accurate and thus invalid. How is coming here going to help them become a better nurse?

I manage to go to school, maintain a home inside and out, get my son to his activities, travel the country for his tournaments, pay my bills, run my errands, and maintain a relationship with my boyfriend who lives over an hour away. I am busy every day of my life and I would never come on here asking these questions.

I truly have no rebuttal nor feel a need to respond in accord since I am not the original poster nor was my intent to discredit others only give my opinion. And we all know about opinions and their similarities. If one cared you would have found that I also gave an opinion as to the credibility of both the proposed answers and the standard of nursing this student may be showing. Ex you only get as good as you give. But again for any that I offended it was not an attempt to discredit your personal ethics but soften the persuasion about the need to conduct this work in a face to face environment. BUT NEVERTHELESS NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED. AND MY APPOLIGIZES ARE GIVEN. MY SECOND YEAR IN PURSUIT OF MY RN HAS COME TO A HALT. I DID NOT MEET THE TEAS SCORES FOR MY SCHOOL. SO I NO LONGER HAVE ANY LEG TO STAND NOR VALUE IN THIS FORUM. strength to all and God Bless any who believe.

I'm sorry you suffered the setback, but you didn't need to mention your opinions of the other people posting here in order to advise the original poster. The original poster has not responded to any of the very reasonable questions asked, or returned to expand on her homework assignment so we could respond appropriately.

Again, I want you to see the connection between your post and the responses you received.

However, we have all written posts we wish we hadn't. We continue to participate on this forum anyway. You are very welcome to stay here because when you say you have no value in this forum, well that is not true.

I don't get these "interview a nurse" assignments. I think this is usually the type of stuff reserved for pre-nursing "intro" courses. I can't imagine any legitimate program having it's instructors waste time on this nonsense. There's not even enough time to teach the actual necessary material! If that's the case, and this is pre-nursing nonsense, then, I guess the OP doesn't have too much to worry about in the way of nursing school if they can't be bothered to figure this one out.
