The most comfortable Nursing Shoes

Nurses Uniform/Gear

I guess the title says it all. Which shoes are the most comfortable for those 12 hour shifts?

Specializes in ICU, telemetry, LTAC.

Well it still feels like a running shoe to me, I run around like a blind monkey with my tail on fire for 12 hours at a time in them.

anyone try Reebok Zigs....I am thinking about buying a pair. I also have tried a reebok shoe but I don't know what style it is, all I know is that it was 30 dollars((on clearance)) and super comfortable for like the past year, so I think I am going to get another pair of reeboks.

I have flat feet and I like Nike Shox. They're no where near cheap (cost about $85+taxes) but at the end of my shift my feet feel great.

Too bad I can't feel what you feel. No local stores sell them so last weekend I drove 100 miles to try some out. I hated them. For me, there was absolutely nothing comfy about them at all! I also tried on the new Nike Air Max. They were $170 and only marginally better feeling than the Shox. I guess I'm going to have to stick with Crocs...

I love my Sketchers shape-Ups. The first day I wore them on the floor they never needed breaking in. I was walking on clouds.

I'm thinking about trying some of those. A friend of mine got some and she said her knees, hips, and legs feel better but her feet hurt!?

I tried on a pair of the shoes that are made by Easy Spirit but are like the Skechers Shape-Ups. I thought they actually felt a little more comfy than the Skechers but were mad ugly!

I have wide flat feet and I occasionally have swollen ankles and feet. Dansko gives my foot more support than any tennis shoes I have ever tried. I liked Reebok's tennis shoe with "U" shaped air chamber on heel but of course they discontinued them several years ago. UUUgggghhhh!!!!

Specializes in L&D, ICU, Family Medicine.

Everyone at work rants and raves about the skechers shape ups and danskos. Try them on first to make sure they fit to your foot. I'm still in search of the perfect 12 hr shift shoe that prevents sore feet and back.

My shoe size is 7 1/5 medium width.

But I buy Saucony Grid Integrity size 8 1/2 size EEE and wear orthotics in them. The bigger size allows for the orthotics and the consequential swelling of my feet after standing 12 hours in a Trauma room.

I have bilateral neuromas, arthritis in my toes, bunions, and heel spurs. (old Nurses feet, for sure)

I have been wearing this shoe for 9 years and nothing else compares. After 5 months they start feeling "flat" and I buy a new pair. $75 on Zappos.com

Here's another vote for Danskos...the professional clog, for nursing work. I was on my feet in lead aprons and my feet were always fine. Other footwear just doesn't get it for me. You will pay a bit more for them, but well worth it, in my opinion.

I strongly agree with the Dansko shoes. It has been approved by the chriropractor.

But of course it always depends on the person's feet.

I caught Fila Fit Walk-n-Sculpts on sale at Kohls for $30! What a deal! They are like the Shape-Ups. Let me tell you. I love them! They do not hurt my feet at all and they are cute. I got the pink and silver ones. http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/shoes/brandsforshoes/filasport/PRD~613121/FILA+SPORT+Walk+N+Sculpt+HighPerformance+Toning+Shoes.jsp
