The class I NEED is full!!

I posted a few days ago about taking A&P with nursing I. Well after many arguments and discussions with my husband, we finally decided that I can go to school this summer to take it...so I got online to register and it is FULL!!! I am going to call the school in the am about it, but does anyone have any ideas on how to approach the school about this??

Here's an idea....keep checking the class several times every day ESPECIALLY THE FIRST DAY and the few days after....students change their schedules all the time for whatever reason, but best of all the college DROPS those who haven't paid, and a spot suddenly becomes available. I always hear students remark "I just registered for this class today."

You can do more to wiggle in the class than the school can....just jeep checking back as often as you can.

You might be able to get on a waitlist. Then if someone decided not to do it, there would be an opening. A&P's fill up fast in most schools. If you don't get in, find out when the next registration day is and be there when it starts. The schools that I know will not let you in just because you really really want/need to get in, if you took too long to register for it. Hope for the best and be prepared for the worse. Good luck.

Especially call the school as soon as they open on the day that students have to pay for their course. They automatically drop students that don't pay for their course (unless financial aid is covering it). I have been registered for classes on the day money was supposed to have been received because of this. Also ask the school if they have a waiting list. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately you will probably be wait-listed for the class. I know my school takes the Tough S*&^ attitude with class registration - if you miss it, too bad.

I know that I should have registered earlier, but there was a lot of issues as to whether I could quit my job or not. You see I am starting NS this fall and am trying to get A&P I and II done before I start so I don't have to take them along with nursing. They offer it in "mini-semesters" so you can get them both done in 1 semester, but they are M-F from 8-12. Anyway...I am kinda hoping that they will give priority to those who are entering ns this fall. I don't know if not I will definitley try to get put on a waiting list and call the morning fees are due. Thanks for the advice!

If your willing to try an online AP and your school will accept these courses, you can still register for those classes. Just go to the online distance course forum and look at the Online Science Course sticky. It has all the information for registering and picking a college.

Way back in '05 when I started my pre-reqs.... Jees this NS thing takes forever....anyway, one of the nursing instructors told me to show up on the first day of class for the high demand courses and there would most likely be a spot available. Luckily, I didn't have to do it, but I know quite a few of my peers got into A&PI, A&PII, and Micro that way. Just an idea. Good luck.

I would IMMEDIATELY contact the professor and ask him/her if they would be willing to let you take the class (as in a special add). I had to do this for a Psychology class I needed last semester. I went to the professor, he said OK, I went to the department head, got a special form, had the professor sign it, and then they let me into the class. As long as the professor is nice, you should be OK. However, you need to get going on this. I wouldn't wait around for someone to drop.

Doing this would be preferable to waiting to see if someone drops, since you will know for sure that you'll be in the class. Sometimes people don't drop classes until after at least a week, and even if they do you may not be able to add (as in the registration period may be over). You need to be as proactive about this as possible.

Good luck!

you need to check several times a day and make sure your on the website the day after ur college does it's nonpayment drops....

You could always try to take it as an audit, then get added when a spot opens, or appeal directly to the professor and see if you can get a special add form signed by them...I've done that more than once....generally though, NS or No NS will not sway the registars....

Contact the nursing department, they may have some seats reserved for nursing students. I have to take Micro this summer, and the nursing dept. reserved ten seats in two different sections just for us. First time this has ever happened to me, but it was GREAT...good luck, I also suggest checking all the time, I have picked up classes in the past when people got dropped for non-payment.
