The amount of SATA questions does not dictate your success rate

I have a friend who just took the NCLEX - RN last week and she found out her results and she passed with 75 questions.

I asked if she had any SATA questions and she said no, not one SATA question.

The I began to ask her if she had any priority questions and she said 4 out of 75.

So I asked what type of question did you have, she said she had more content based questions.

Now isn't this odd. Many people say that your success rate will be dictated by the amount of priority, delegation, SATA question you have...well my friend goes to prove that this is NOT true at all.

Just to make sure, I asked again, are you sure you didn't have any SATA questions...YES! I had none, if I did I would have known!

From what i have learned is you need to get most of the easy questions right and about half of the higher leverl questions correct-

Higher level questions are the S.A.T.A and the priority, there vcould be another type-mabye some med questions ?? i dont know but you should have some of theose

for me personally--heres my break down

1st test

215 questions

4 S.A.T.A

3 or so priority'

failed

2nd test

122 questions

7 S.A.T.A

7+priority

failed

3rd test

250 questions

27 S.A.T.A

40+ priority

80 meds

passed

--there are always exception to the rules, so try not to worry and keep your head up

no one truley knows how the nclex works--

there are so many myths regarding the test that it is hard to say any way.

yes,its true..the amount of SATA questions you get does not dictate your pass/failure...I have a friend too who stopped at 75 and he only got 2 SATA and some prio,no delegations...maybe there are other higher level questions other than those mentioned that we just didnt know...we cant really predict NCLEX results alone with that....

I passed with 75 questions and only had 2 SATA and on one of them I chose all!! I had maybe 2 of who would you see 1st -2 math and they were easy math as in mg/kg/dose. No delegation at all. None of the newer style of questions ex: the drag over to the box questions.

I did not have a single pregnant person question or post partum question in my entire test. The only remotely OB question I had was what reflexes in an infant would I question...and one safety question on an infant. But no pregnancy at all.

Mine was mainly content...sometimes I feel like I got the dumby test as I swear it was not as hard as I psyched myself up for!!! I was done in 45 min and felt like "that was it?"

As an interesting note--my friend took it the day after I did and we compared questions, we had at least 5 if not more of the exact same questions. Verbatim the same. She also passed with 75 questions. Maybe they were those tester 15 questions, but they were identical.

I just finished school and I graduate on sunday. I completed the hurst review, which was wonderful, and I am now studying for my NCLEX.

I have not mailed in my application yet but I'm already nervous!!!

These crazy SATA questions have me freaking out....ahh!

Actually all get 50% correct and 50% incorrect. The level that you are getting them correct at determines if you pass or not.

Nothing more than that.

And SATA questions are not always considered a higher level, depends on what they are asking; they are only a format style of question.
