Got the results today.I was looking at the envelope long before I opened it. I passed :balloons: and I got more than what I needed. Now I have to start with NCLEX preparation.

For Visa screen certification , I must pass IELTS> 6.5 and Spoken Band >7.0, I have a guestion , I must take two IELTS test, one for IELTS one for Spoken band?

Yes, that is right. 6.5 overall band and 7 spoken. IELTS is one test. U do not have to go to 2 tests.

TOEFL has a spoken which is called ESL, I think, and u register for it separately.

IELTS is administered though in 2 days. On one is the spoken, which is 14-15 min. long for each candidate, and on the second day is the written, listening and reading part, all lasting around 3 hrs.

in some places ielts spoken is done on a separate day and rest of the other bands done on one day but in many test centers all the four bands ar given on the same day. i did mine in one day.

You need more practice. Not much more to offer.

Sorry to hear that, pg5! What materials did u use?

At least u know what r the areas that u need to stress on. Do not panic, u can take this test as many times u want.

I used Scotts English Success and knew exactly what to expect and how do the essay writing. Practice as much as u can...The only key to success!

Just a clarification: ESL is English as a Second Language.

The speaking part of the TOEFL exam is called the TSE, the Test of Spoken English. TOEFL now combines all three exams into one exam, just like the IELTS.

In the past, you had to register separately for the TSE, and in many countries, there was a 90 day wait, that is why the IELTS started to be accepted.

What did u use to study? Listening is not bad, reading too. The lowest is writing and speaking. Now u know that u have to practice on speaking and read some strategies on writing. Practice, practice, practice!

i'm happy for you. congratulations!!! i havent received my official toefl score. and to think i tested ahead of you.

Today must be my lucky day. I got my official toefl score from the mail (no email) and I passed!!! This only shows how considerate TOEFL people were with my essay since they gave me a passing score although I wasn't able to complete it. Miracle? Yes, thank God.
