I passed my NCLEX RN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to thank Brian, staff, and all the great nurses:nurse: that helped me pass. This is the best website out there.
For my advice the test was HARD, HARD, HARD.
Study S/S and common labs of Diabetes Insipidus, SIADH - anti-diuretic hormone/vasopression.
Adrenal glands S/S of Addison's Disease (this one I would remember by the two d's and say down down-dark dark meaning cortisol down, sodium down, and dark pigmentation. Cushing's Syndrome think of a cushy person and increased cortisol.
S/S of Hypoparathyroid low Ca increased phosphoruswhich causes tetany. and Hyperparathyroid with increased Ca low phosphorus fractures, constipation.
S/S of Hypothyroidism with an increase of TSH because levels of T3 and T4 are low. Hyperthyroidism
In school we had a sheet on all of these with fluid volume, serum osmolarity, urine osmolarity, physical assessments/manifestations, treatment, nursing interventions, and medications for each (I wish I would have studied these more, and less questions).
Study infection control
If I would have failed I would have made flash cards of all the above and also S/S of Ca, K, Na, and all the other electrolytes both hyper and hypo.
