Hap-E Phowerth of Jool-Eye! (Don't know why I like phonetic spelling so much, but I do!)
Gonna be a hot time in the old town tonight (today). It is going to be 99 degrees with a feels-like of something ridiculous like 106 degrees.
I am going to throw away all the 30+ year old pillows today. UGH! You know how feather pillows get flatter and heavier as the years go by? Well, there's a bunch of them in what used to be the main bedroom, and last night I was throwing a few things away and realized about those old groady pillows....they gotta go! I may get the bed cleaned off to the point where I can wash the sheets and bedding that have been on that bed for more than 12 years without change. Of course, nobody has slept in that bed for longer than that. The mattress , of course, needs at LEAST to be flipped and aired out with the ceiling fan, but I will have BiL help flip it.
I sure hope SiL doesn't decide to invite us over for a cook-put ( or even a cook-IN ) I just don't feel particularly sociable today. They can take Nannie if they want to, but somehow I doubt that will come up; they'd have to do the transporting, not me!
Gonna get dressed and go get Nannie up; if she sleeps after her breakfast, that's when I'll do The Attack On The Old Pillows. It will make me feel triumphant, and all the trash goes out tomorrow so the timing is good!
Later, yez guyz!
Hello all!
Happy 4th!
We had planned an outing up to a local small lake, but realized today IS the Fourth of July, and roads will likely be crowded, so will postpone our outing for another day. Guess we will just hunker down here! I do need a few things at the grocery store, I may do that later.
Y'all have a safe Fourth!
Well geeze, no more lounging in bed late in the morning! I heard Nannie stirring around downstairs, so I got on my clothes and came down as she was trying to get her walker out the back door! She said she was just going to go outside for a little while. I told her no, she wasn't going outside, it's too darn hot for her (or almost anyone!) and she was NOT going out to fall and break her other wrist or another bone! She hadn't been wandering lately, except that one time she fell in the yard and fx her left wrist, a few weeks ago. Then, she was going out to see SiL who was riding the lawn-mower. Today there was nobody out there, but she just thought it looked nice out, soooooo.... Uh-uh!!
She has, as usual, made up her bed, so I have to go see if it's made up wet, like she often does. But, by golly it LOOKS good, and that is still what matters the most to her.
And I can see where she has partially unwrapped the ace-wrap on her cast and tried to re-wrap it, so that will have to be taken care of sooner or later.
This is like watching a 2-3 year old kid; she just cannot stop herself from doing what she shouldn't do. Hope there are none of my 'fire-works' going off in the house today. I've got to hold on to my sanity and be nice, so I don't let myself get so aggravated by her.
I pray she dozes off soon. AMEN!
I noticed that when Nannie is talking in her sleep, or half-sleep, she speaks in complete sentences instead of the verbal salad she most often comes out with these days. It seems kind of like a person with a stutter who can sing without stuttering. Just thought it was interesting and a bit weird.
Happy 4th of July!
The weather is quite pleasant, 76 degrees and a little breeze. It looks like the predicted heat advisory/ event has been dialed back. Yay. I was not looking forward to dh's suffering when the temp is > 80.
Had a good PT visit yesterday, but I was sore afterwards and through the night. I am going to take a 3 week break from visits and just do home routine.
The dogs don't seem to notice the sounds of fireworks. No big plans today. I'd like to stay home and enjoy my garden.
Afternoon all! It's hot hot hot here today, and storms are on their way. I slept in, I'm still in my jammies, and I'm just chilling with the mindless picture box today. Making some bourbon pork chops for dinner, and they smell oh so good. (I cheated...)
Took tomorrow off work, so looking forward to a nice long weekend. Still adjusting to having an empty lap, and feeling guilty that I'm also relieved that I don't see my baby girl changing positions every 5 minutes or so because she couldn't find a way to escape the pain. Still hurts like you know where though that she's gone.
Happy Independence Day!
We did nothing. But It was a good nothing. 🙂. Actually, I baked an apple pie and a fresh peach cobbler. Then grilled hot dogs, brats, and corn. There is a watermelon in the refrigerator. There was a brief thunderstorm. Our little town is on mandatory water restrictions until the 8th as they hunt for breaks in water lines. No recreational use or lawn irrigation. I think I'm OK to water my tiny garden. There wasn't enough rain to count.

Hi Crunch and Ado
Stars that is aggravating, the caregiver seems to be unreliable
Dianah that's really hot
NJ22 glad she was discharged
Tweety I would've left that too, that's too much work to do
Yesterday was about as bad as I had expected. Started early, worked through lunch. Would have had some time at the end of the day but the person I was covering for got a new case. But I did get out on time and didn't get too upset
Was pretty tired after work, but went to the library and grocery store after work and exercised
Today will go out bird watching. Then will bake cookies, will keep some and bring some to the family gathering my cousin is having on Sat. Might try and make some cornbread if I have time
Will be a little cooler today, in the mid 80s
