Texas Woman's University (TWU) Fall 2024

Published

Hey there everyone,

Noticed no one made a topic for the twu fall 2024 cohort applications yet so I thought I would do it. Maybe it's just too early, but Im itching to get started! Has anyone already taken TEAS and finished all prerequisites? I'm nervous because I'm transferring in with no previous bachelors so I have no preference.

What are your stats?

3.2 Overall GPA

4.0 nursing prereq GPA

89% TEAS Exam

I'm concerned that my overall GPA might affect me seeing that most people I've seen here have better ones ??

You're good a lot of people aren't eligible anyway! So just relax, I applied to six schools. If you're that worried apply to some ADN's like me ?

How do you know?

Because I literally almost was ineligible because they didn't look at my TEAS correctly so imagine other people not taking a certain class, taking the TEAS too many times, not a high enough GPA, and etc... there are so many reasons why people become ineligible.

Most ADN programs around me are mornings only & I have a job, which is why I'm only applying to evening/weekends BSN programs. TWU is the least expensive. But if I don't get in I might try WCU or Chamberlain but their tuition is crazy expensive. One good thing about then is that there's not waitlist or limit.

500 applications is frightening. Knowing 120 spots are available in each campus is even more. That's limits me to Dallas campus only.

Anyone have a plan b in place? Especially those trying to get in the evening/weekend program? ?

what do you mean it limits you to only Dallas? I thought you could only apply to one program anyway

When I filled the nursingcas application it asked which program I wanted to be considered for which I choose Dallas evening/weekend program. Then it asked, "If your first choice is not available, would you consider admission to another campus?" Which is where I put no.

Well don't go to WCU for as pricing. Even with most of my credits taken. It still was $75,000.

I applied to an ADN program and 2 other universities. I'm thinking about going to another ADN.

My stats are

85 TEAS

GPA 3.75

Nurse GPA 3.84

I've seen people get accepted in with that GPA. Usually if you have a lower end GPA you get accepted in to Houston. I heard Dallas is really big on higher GPA and is competitive. But who knows. There's a lot of people that won't get in for silly reasons.

Good to know! TWU does seem to have higher requirements than other schools I've seen, too. UTA has an accelerated online program, and from what I remember, I think their minimum GPA is 2.5 and 45 on the TEAS. My problem with them is that clinicals are assigned at random during the week (can't guarantee weekends all the time).

Yes , I think UTA is 58.7% - 77.3% TEAS score minimum. But I've been putting off school for so long at this point I have to put me first. LOL. I do work during the day. But if I have change my work I will. But I know most people can't and I was one of those people for years. So now I'm able to allow that. I gotta put school first.  But everyone has their own schedules and you have to do what works best for you.
