Texas Tech Traditional BSN 2013

Hello Guys!!I just wanted to create a new thread for the 2013 Texas tech BSN program! I will be applying this December (El Paso) campus. Is anyone else?

I am so excited and hopefully in the near future I can meet you all!

I am so nervous....but I am sure most of you all are feeling the same.

Actually, I havnt tried to contact anyone in regards to why I got assigned to Odessa campus, now tht I think about it, I'm guessing I may have selected all the campuses as a destination on nursing cas I really cannot recall. I was able to finally find some student housing options and will probably be looking into that route bcz I cannot afford to pay tuition and rent a $900+ apt. I'm greatful to have been accepted to tech though...&& thanks a lot by the way! I hope to hear from my first choice as well,... Do u know if they have different standards of admission between the campuses? Like what determines where they place u if u choose more than one campus? Do u know anyone tht goes to tech Odessa? What do people have to say about the nursing school compared to other campuses if u do?

I honestly have no idea what determines which campus you get accepted to! From what I've heard from previous threads like this is that all of their schools are good I haven't heard that one Is better than another! I know that if you do decide to stay in Odessa after school with a hospital that your pay will be pretty amazing lol but it will probably all go to housing :(

I honestly have no idea what determines which campus you get accepted to! From what I've heard from previous threads like this is that all of their schools are good I haven't heard that one Is better than another! I know that if you do decide to stay in Odessa after school with a hospital that your pay will be pretty amazing lol but it will probably all go to housing :(

To those that have been accepted to the Odessa campus, apparently THIS fall is this locations first year having a nursing school at the Odessa aka utpb campus. I was browsing their website and ran into their admission criteria and noticed they had a few extra pre-reqs not listed on the original Texas tech website! Not only tht but the Odessa campus requires a B or above in all sciences and even math! Statistics is also required in ADDITION to college algebra and the nutrition must be taken at the Odessa campus as well as the statistics. Now I'm just really confused bcz I'm a transfer student so whomever accepted me seems to have overlooked my transcript or something! I just don't want to quit my job and relocate to odessa only to be told tht my acceptance was a mistake or something... So those tht have been accepted to Odessa were u aware of the info tht is on the link below??

Or would it not apply to us since we've already been accepted ?

You are looking at info for UTPB, NOT TTUHSC! This is the first I have even seen about UTPB's admissions. I knew they were getting a program, but had not seen anything yet. And after reviewing this it still says "Proposed," which leads me to believe that the program still isn't up and running yet! It was only approved by the TBON yesterday. As far as some of the pre-reqs, I knew that Statistics was req'd for TTUHSC. You were accepted to the the TTUHSC program NOT UTPB. I think it is great that UTPB has started a program, especially since they have housing on campus that may benefit some. The TTUHSC program has been in Odessa since 1985, so rest assured that you have been selected to a program that knows what it is doing! Wow! Thank u for clearing that up for me. I googled Texas tech housing and for some reason it directed me to tht website so I just assumed tht it was a new division of Texas tech. Lol I feel like a retard now lol... But unfortunately I'm back at square one as far as student housing for Texas tech students in Odessa is concerned...

I feel for you there. Housing in Odessa is beyond ridiculous. We are fortunate to have bought our house several years ago before it became crazy! If I hear of anything I will post it on here!

opps.. yes they told me i had to do a video essay...just got that email couple days ago... I am working on that right now.

Haven't heard from EP campus tho
