Texas Tech Traditional BSN Fall 2015

Published

HELLO EVERYONE!

Is anyone applying to TTU Traditional BSN nursing program Fall of 2015?? I thought this would be a great place we could all come together and ask questions, answer questions, encourage each other, and stay up to date!!

Here are some questions to get going:

What campus are you applying to?

How many campuses can we apply to?

If you are applying for Fall 2015 have you completed all 57 credit hours?

Cumulative and science GPA? (If too personal, don't answer) :)

How many volunteer hours will you have?

Does anyone know about how many apply vs. get accepted?

Any tips, advice, or information you want to share with us scared future nurses?!

When is everyone scheduled to take the TEAS?

If you've taken the TEAS already, what did you think?!

**I want this to be a positive, helpful and encouraging thread for everyone!!**

I hope this thread will get something started!

Chelsie

For those who already got interviewed: any helpful tips about the interview pls? What kind of questions do they ask? Thanks!

Good luck on your interview, Ashunda!! When did you get the interview email? Did they mention how much longer they will be doing interviews?

@bnmatlock...I got the email on February 11 and I called one of the coordinators and told them I was considering to take either the bus or train to come to Lubbock! The lady talked to her boss and arranged to interview me via skype! Did you get an invitation yet? Are u HCCs student too?

Hey I'm student at Houston Community College and I applied to TTHSC two days before the deadline and got invites for an interview! I also applied to UTMB and UT at Tyler! Since Houston is a bit far from Lubbock, they are arranging to interview me via Skype! I have 4.0 science gpa and 3.92 overall gpa! I have 82 adjusted individual score and 92 national percentile on Teas! I have been volunteering at Memorial Hermann Hospital since January 15,2014 and so far I have accumulated more than 230 hrs! I have also been volunteering at my church since January 01, 2012!

Our stats are very similar. I'm in the program now...second semester junior. I had about the same volunteer hrs in the OR/Labor Delivery and grades. I think you have a great chance. This year is going to be super competitive to get in because they are going to Fall & Spring admit classes so 75 each time. Which is about what is in my class...157. We are the last Fall only one a year admits. Love the program and glad o chose it over UTMB Galveston.

I hope I will get accepted! Please keep your fingers crossed for me and other students on this thread! I am originally from Ethiopia, the country located in east Africa! I moved to the United States in 2012 and I have been going to HCCs since spring, 2012. I juggle full time school and job! I work night shift at convinience store and go to school daytime! If TTUHSC needed an admission essay, I would have written a heartouching story! When I first came to the the States, I couldn't speak a lick of English! However, I managed to learn the language within 3 yrs and I even got an A in both composition I and II. Can you please tell me what life looklikes in Lubbock? Do you live on or off campus? Did you get scholarships or you took loans? Is it possible to work part time and go to school at the same time? If so, is there job opportunity in Lubbock?

@bnmatlock...did you take pathophysiology and introduction to nursing as a profession yet? I tried to take both courses this spring but HCC doesn't have those courses! Can you please tell me any college in Houston that gives both courses in summer? I must take both courses before fall to increase my chance of getting accepted!

We did have to write a personal statement for part of admission on NCAS. They don't rec working during school especially the J2 semester. It's the hardest. I live off campus about 2 mins from the HSC & yes got 100% school loans through private lender. I love Lubbock!!!

Ashunda,

I know that Lone Star College offers Patho, but it does not offer Intro to Nursing. I believe you can take Intro to Nursing online through Texas Tech though. Good luck on your interview!!! I still haven't heard back yet regarding an interview, but wishing you guys all the best.

I didn't know if ya'll have looked at the new calendar for 2015-2016 year but they have changed the semester length. They are going to 13 week semesters. Last fall we started on Aug 23rd...this Fall we start Sept and last class day is Nov 25th. Term ends Dec 4th and we will graduate in April 2016...have finals starting like April 11th 2016....pretty awesome new schedule!!!!!

Finally done with my video interview! Thank God,it went very well! They were supposed to interview me at 10:45 am but due to technical problem they cancelled and rescheduled me for 3:45 pm! They said I should expect to hear from them before the spring semester ! Good luck everybody!!!

Hello folks! I feel like i'm the only guy active on this thread! Lol where is everybody? Aren't y'all excited about starting nursing school? Anyways I have a couple of questions for u! What is the estimated cost of TTUHSC nursing school and are y'all gonna apply for the federal student loans? If we get accepted for fall, when are we gonna graduate? Thanks

Hey, that's awesome! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of questions did they ask?
