HELLO EVERYONE!
Is anyone applying to TTU Traditional BSN nursing program Fall of 2015?? I thought this would be a great place we could all come together and ask questions, answer questions, encourage each other, and stay up to date!!
Here are some questions to get going:
What campus are you applying to?
How many campuses can we apply to?
If you are applying for Fall 2015 have you completed all 57 credit hours?
Cumulative and science GPA? (If too personal, don't answer) :)
How many volunteer hours will you have?
Does anyone know about how many apply vs. get accepted?
Any tips, advice, or information you want to share with us scared future nurses?!
When is everyone scheduled to take the TEAS?
If you've taken the TEAS already, what did you think?!
**I want this to be a positive, helpful and encouraging thread for everyone!!**
I hope this thread will get something started!

Hey
I'm currently in the Trad BSN program about to finish my first semester. For our class we had 160/800 accepted if I remember on the number that applied for Lubbock campus.
3.6 OA GPA and above was the cut-off for our class in getting a spot. We also had a 3 person panel interview as part of the process. Think they are doing away with that. For Fall 2015 they are suppose to be taking 70-75 I believe since they are starting a Spring 2016 class also.
I had around 250 job shadowing hrs also. I was a current Texas Tech student too.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
You can apply to all 3...you specify 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice or just one of you want to take that chance....that's how it was for Fall 2014.
Also, my science GPA was 3.8 & my OA GPA was 3.75
Wow! Thank you so much for all the information! When you say OA GPA is that your whole entire career or your 57 prerequisite hours?!
How's your first semester going?! I have a good friend in the Lubbock program and this is also her first semester!
So far I have 120 job shadowing hours and I'm a CMA, CPR, and BLS certified I'm hoping that will help my chances also.
I feel eel like in bothering the TTUHSC but I keep getting different answers for everything so I thought this forum could help!! :)

Yes OA was the 57 pre-req hrs. It's going good...cried a few times lol. It's a big adjustment and you have to be really focused and diligent on studying and keeping up with everything. If it was easy everyone would be doing it right lol. Love Love the program and professors...it's awesome!!!
Well I'm so glad to hear you're doing well and loving it!! Hopefully I'll be right there with you soon!!!!

I will be applying to Tech as well! Thank you for starting this thread because I'm sure we are all going to have a lot of questions as the application deadline approaches.
As far as stats, I scored an 88 on the TEAS and I have already completed the 57 hours of prereqs. The TEAS ATI Study Guide was very helpful if you haven't already taken the test though. Oh, and my cumulative GPA is 3.5, so I'm hoping that I make the cut off for this year's applicants!
Has anybody had any trouble with NursingCAS? My school is sending out my transcripts today, so I'm hoping that they are processed in time for the deadline!

Hi guys,
I'm applying to the fall 2015 at Texas Tech also.
Science GPA 3.75
Overall GPA 3.5
Teas Overall 72%
52/57 prerequisite hours completed. Just missing patho and introduction to nursing.
I'm super nervous. Application deadline is only in a couple weeks. I am just waiting on my transcript from South Plains College to get to the Nursing CAS and then I will submit both cas and merlin application. I'm really scared that my teas score is too low.
Good luck to everyone.
tranzam, which location did you apply to? Will you be taking patho and intro to nursing in the spring? I was accepted into Tech for the spring semester and I am trying to figure out if I can take those classes online since I still live in Houston.
Those are both offered online...I took both of them online last spring at Tech during my last pre-req semester
Did you have to go up to the Lubbock campus for orientation or to meet with an advisor?
