Texas Tech Traditional BSN Fall 2015

Published

HELLO EVERYONE!

Is anyone applying to TTU Traditional BSN nursing program Fall of 2015?? I thought this would be a great place we could all come together and ask questions, answer questions, encourage each other, and stay up to date!!

Here are some questions to get going:

What campus are you applying to?

How many campuses can we apply to?

If you are applying for Fall 2015 have you completed all 57 credit hours?

Cumulative and science GPA? (If too personal, don't answer) :)

How many volunteer hours will you have?

Does anyone know about how many apply vs. get accepted?

Any tips, advice, or information you want to share with us scared future nurses?!

When is everyone scheduled to take the TEAS?

If you've taken the TEAS already, what did you think?!

**I want this to be a positive, helpful and encouraging thread for everyone!!**

I hope this thread will get something started!

Chelsie

tbippus,

I think the your B.S in biology will def give you some points.

Thanks for that encouragement! I definitely hope so :)

Idk how competitive the Odessa location is....

Have you taken the TEAS V?

Yea I'm not too sure how competitive any location other than Lubbock is. Just know Lubbock is very competitive.

Yes I got a 72% on it. I called up there and asked the advisor if she thinks I should retake it. She said it doesn't really matter as long as you make above a 70% this semester. Sounded weird but I took her advice and didn't retake it. Hopefully she was right.

I was told the same thing about the TEASV. They had a work shop in Odessa recently and said the same thing. So sounds like you're good!!

haha thanks for the info. It does make me feel better.

Did they say anything about GPA?

Any idea when we may start hearing back if we have an interview???

I'm in the program now. I was invited for an interview and did that in March and then got my acceptance email around April 17th or close to that.

I'm applying to Lubbock. What are your stats if you don't mind sharing?

Not feeling very confident right now though. Does anyone know how they look at GPA? Do they look at every single class that you have taken in college career? Or just ones that are pre requisites? My pre requisites GPA is a lot better than my overall. My overall is 3.13. I have my bachelors in another field.

For the Fall 2014 admits 157/800...you needed a 3.65 and above to get in. It's highly competitive but that's what makes it a stand out program. Top candidates and graduates.

They told you guys specifically that the cut off was a 3.65 that semester?

They told you guys specifically that the cut off was a 3.65 that semester?

Had several friends at Tech get an email about the same time interview invites started going out that stated their GPA didn't make the cutoff so to speak. One of them had a 3.54 and a 84 on TEAS. It told them what it was and that they were below it. Think it was 3.65 for our cohert class.

haha thanks for the info. It does make me feel better.

Did they say anything about GPA?

No I haven't heard anything specific about the GPA.

They will not give you any stats on past coherts like some schools do. We found this out after the fact and from word of mouth. They also look at science GPA heavily.

Everyone check there Merlin. I received an invitation for an interview.
