Texas Tech 2nd degree accelerated BSN 2018

Is it too early to start this thread? I couldn't find another one.

I am planning on applying to the TT 2nd degree BSN program in May in hopes to begin in January 2018.

Anyone else?? Anyone in the program currently or recently have any info to share?? Which location is everyone applying?

I also received the email earlier today. I'm hoping they send out the acceptance emails soon because this waiting is making me extremely anxious!

On another note, has anybody started the background check process or are yall waiting to hear back first? I tried to last week and it would not let me so I was wondering if it is something we start after we know if we have been accepted?

For the VBSN applicants who are wondering if we are in the same pool as the second degree applicants. Kyle responded to the question...

Yes and no, it will always depend on how many openings are available at each site as that is why you are asked to pick a second location in your application process as some sites fill up before others, so in this since yes, know we do a lot so many for each site for VBSN and if that number is not met then we will likely open up to a 2nd degree student that that location was there first option. I hope this makes since but honestly it really is a non-issue as both programs fall under the Accelerated Programs. You should know very soon if you are receiving an acceptance letter. Hope all is well. If you need anything else please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

So second degree applicants this is also relevant to you because if a VBSN slot is not filled, you will be able to take the slot.

I already started the process through IdentGo. Figured even if I didn't get in I would have to do it for any other school as well. It was super easy. Went to the website, entered the code, and scheduled an appointment at the nearest location. Once I got to my appointment, it was only about a five minute process and they accept credit/debit cards.

Side note, I just checked my email and I got an admission offer on my first choice in San Antonio about half an hour ago!! Keep in mind I applied for the VBSN track the timing may be different for the 2nd degree track. Good luck to the rest of y'all!!

I'm kinda concerned that I still haven't received the email that it seems everyone else has. Anyone have words of wisdom for me? Should I inquire or let it be?

I just received my acceptance letter for Abilene!!!!!!!! =) Keep in mind I am a VBSN applicant!

Thanks for letting me know! I think it is just an error on my part then. I just tried to schedule an appointment again and it still tells me that they do not have a record for me in their system and to contact my organization to verify my information. I thought it was probably because TTUHSC didn't send off our info until after the acceptance decisions, but now I see its probably just something that was sent incorrectly.

Emma, I don't think you should be worried about it. As long as you turned in all of your supplemental items, you should be good! The email states that the application has successfully been submitted and is complete. Which yours should be, since you went through the interview process. They might have just been sent out as applications were updated by staff, it seems to be an automated email. Good luck!

I agree! Don't worry about that email that most people seemed to have received. I never got that email today, but I did get an acceptance email. I am wondering if maybe they are sending out acceptance emails to those who applied for the VBSN track first.

So it seems that VBSN students are part of each cohort's available seats and get preference over 2nd degree students?
