Texas Tech 2nd degree accelerated BSN 2018

Published

Is it too early to start this thread? I couldn't find another one.

I am planning on applying to the TT 2nd degree BSN program in May in hopes to begin in January 2018.

Anyone else?? Anyone in the program currently or recently have any info to share?? Which location is everyone applying?

Thanks!!

Hey y'all, I have almost all the textbooks from this past year. Let me know if you want to buy them from me!

Hey, I'm interested in buying them from you! How can I contact you?

Hey all. Congrats to everyone who was admitted. I am looking in to applying for next spring and am having a hard time figuring out how they calculate "cumulative GPA". I have called the school and haven't really gotten an answer to my question besides the receptionist that answered said they do not look at overall GPA any longer and wanted me to refer to Transcript Eval spreadsheet but I still think I may be looking at it wrong. Would anyone mind sharing if you know this information? If you don't feel like blowing up this thread I am happy to talk in private message. Thanks!

I would go with what the receptionist said. I do not know of any unusual way that they figure the GPA. When I applied, I assumed they just averaged all the scores together from all the different universities that I attended. However, if she said that they are not looking at that, then I would take her word for it. Admission policies change. Good luck on all your prereq's.

Hi all. I'm beginning pre-reqs in hopes of applying to this program next year. (Currently have BA Psychology and MA Counseling.) For anyone in the Austin cohort, can I ask a couple questions? Curious as to the general area in Austin where in-person classes are held. Also, are in-person classes, exams, and clinicals typically held in daytime, evenings, or both? Thank you! Appreciate any info. :)

Can you give me a general idea of where and when the clinicals are held, in the San Antonio cohort? Are you satisfied with the program? Any other insight into this location would be helpful as well. i like the sounds of a one year program. I still have one semester to complete Micro and Patho at ACCD, but all done with everything else. Thank you!

Hi there,

I would love to chat with anyone that is currently commuting from Dallas to Abilene for the program. I applied to the program for Spring 2019 and am in the same situation (I live in Dallas but was accepted into the Abilene cohort - relocating isn't an option). Please let me know if you would be willing to talk - my email is [email protected].

Thanks so much!

Erin

Hi All,

I got into the Amarillo program. I am considering relocating. Is anyone else in the same situation?

Hi! I was accepted to the Austin 2019 cohort. Are your books still available? Were you local in Austin or did you have to move there? Either way, do you have any advice on affordable areas close to the campus or partner hospitals? Where is the school located? Thanks

Congratulations on your acceptance. I am a current student in San Antonio and I do have books available and live about an hour from Austin. I would advise waiting for the spring semester textbook list to come out to ensure that they do not changed the required text to an updated edition. I don't have much advice specific to the Austin site, but if you do have any general questions about the program you are welcome to email me at [email protected]

But, I'm in!!!!! VBSN San Antonio!

I'm applying to the January 2020 VBSN I find this entire process to be extremely stressful and would love any and all info about how your application process went, how class schedules go, how clinicals work?
