Anyone applying to TTUHSC MSN-PMHNP?
I am in the process and would love to know if you have any suggestions about how to approach the essay and resume portions of the application. I am a BSN-RN. My ADN GPA: 3.85 and my RN-BSN GPA: 4.0. I have been an RN for 5 years. I worked on a Med-Surg unit for 1 year, OR for 3 years, Medical Device QA for 11 mos. and currently work in Mental Health Outpatient Clinics full-time. I have always wanted to specialize in a Psych and just started in the BH clinics. I absolutely love it and have found my niche for sure. Hoping and praying that TTUHSC might consider me for PMHNP.
Look forward to hearing from others! ?
Yeah good point, maybe. First letter of my last name is “c”.
@mattye1971 have you heard anything?
No, I have not heard anything but mine starts with R. The waiting is killing me ?. I would think that I should at least be competitive. 3.92 BSN, with 4.0 in all nursing classes. Got a B in government, because he was one those professors that rarely ever gave A’s. I have 3 years RN experience has a special needs/mental health Case Manager. I also have 5+ years psych experience as a LVN. My speciality is IDD. Good Luck! Thank you for your input.
my last name starts with T
I had a 3.5 GPA, 4 years of Critical Care exp.
worked on 2 research studies (in PMH), poster presentaitons, and published twice with my PIs.
I don't have the most direct exp but I think my research exp and other stuff showed my vested interest in the field. I felt like my essays and references were pretty strong. Sounds like a lot of people still haven't heard. I didn't know they did interviews so maybe they're for people they're on the fence about. I know waiting sucks : /

Hi all! I applied as well. I received the interview email yesterday as well. Mine is scheduled for Friday the 13th. I am very nervous as I am not sure what all they are looking for!
I did not know there was an interview process. My mind is wondering if maybe there are those that are automatically accepted (hence no interview email!) and then a second group of us who will be interviewed to be weeded out?
Did y'all know that they did interviews? Maybe I am clueless!
Pt- I was thinking the same thing about those of us with interviews being "on the fence" candidates.. ?
I am a TTUHSC alumni (2014), completed my RN-BSN there with a 4.0 GPA. My ADN GPA was 3.8-ish. I have 6 years experience as a nurse, with 4 years being in psych. But, I have no real research under my belt... ?
I thought I was competitive too, maybe they are looking for something else?
Ugh.

I know we do not do names here but what is the first letter of your last name? Is it at the first of the alphabet? May we have your stats so we may see if we measure up? Thank you.
