Hey 1day. I haven’t got to the essay portion yet. I have 3 recommenders so far but wanted to ask if I can have 4. Do you know if you can put more than three or does it cut you off at three? Also, where are the essay directions? Do you have to submit the application before seeing essay requirements and instructions? Sorry for so many questions but I have one more....what do you think I should put in “activities and distinctions”? Thanks ?
It does not cut you off at three. I put in 4 because I had assumed the “three letters” were something I was going to submit separately. I didn’t realize that until later..
Anyways, all of the supplemental items will not appear until you’ve submitted the application.
I cant remember what I put under those let me go back and look at it and I’ll let you know.
Hi there. I am also in the process of applying. I am coming from a different background, however. I have a BS degree in Criminology with a minor in psychology. I have a MS in Criminology as well. I attended an accelerated BSN program in 2012 and have been a nurse for 6 years. I have experience in ICU, Cardiac Stepdown/post cardiac interventional, hospital PACU (critical cases), and currently outpatient surgery PACU. I always applied to psych RN positions but never ended up working as one. Psych was my favorite rotation in nursing school. I hope to combine degrees and work with patients who are victims of violence/abuse/etc.
Any thoughts regarding applying to PMHMP school with no prior psych experience? Anyone else doing this? I am debating getting psychiatric RN certified by the AACN.

Anyone applying to TTUHSC MSN-PMHNP?
I am in the process and would love to know if you have any suggestions about how to approach the essay and resume portions of the application. I am a BSN-RN. My ADN GPA: 3.85 and my RN-BSN GPA: 4.0. I have been an RN for 5 years. I worked on a Med-Surg unit for 1 year, OR for 3 years, Medical Device QA for 11 mos. and currently work in Mental Health Outpatient Clinics full-time. I have always wanted to specialize in a Psych and just started in the BH clinics. I absolutely love it and have found my niche for sure. Hoping and praying that TTUHSC might consider me for PMHNP.
Look forward to hearing from others! ?
