Texas Tech Accelerated 2nd Degree Program 2022

It’s probably too early to start this thread.. but is anyone planning on applying to TTU’s ABSN program for 2022?

@jdaigs94 I think that will just depend on how flexible your job is. There are several in our cohort who are still working, but most of them are PRN.

Here's how clinicals work- you are assigned a coach who you will be with the entire program. In order to get your required hours, you'll end up working about twice a week with them all year. (Some weeks may only be one shift, but I would plan on it being two most of the time!) You're working the full 12-hour shift with your coach and you have to go based on their schedule. They will share their schedule with you (they usually schedule four weeks at a time and get their schedule about two weeks in advance) and you look at the three days they're working each week and pick which two days you want to go with them. So you do get to pick which days you want to do clinicals, but it's limited to when your coach is already working, if that makes sense.

And I totally skipped your first question! As far as the admissions process, I recommend applying early and having as much done at the time of application as possible. For example, you're required to have your CNA and BLS by the time school starts in January, but you get extra points if you have it don't at time of application.

The interview invitations went out I think in either July or August, were conducted mostly at the end of August, and acceptance letters went out in September/October!

Hi everyone, I will be applying!
The program’s website says that the TEAS is not required for those applying for 2022. I’m not reading that wrong am I?

That’s what I understood it as too so I hope so! I’m applying too!

Just curious, How are you guys taking medical terminology? Are you getting credit from a school or signing up online and getting a certificate?

The TEAS wasn’t required for 2021 either and their website says it’s not a requirement for 2022 either. I actually asked last year and they were not even accepting scores, even if we had taken it.

I took medical terminology online for a certificate. I think I had to pay like $50 for it.

Hey!

I am also thinking of applying for the Spring 2022 Cohort. Does anyone know when you have to have your Bachelors degree finished by? I won’t graduate til this august due to having to do an internship before graduation.

@Corinna96 you just have to have it done by the start of the program (which will be January 2022). I'm in the 2021 cohort and several in our group graduated in December 2020 ?

Hi guys!

I am applying for the Austin Spring 2022 Cohort. Anyone else?

I didn’t apply last year but I did attend an online webinar for prospective students. Was there one this year?

I am! I am looking into applying to the Dallas cohort!

Does anyone know if you have to be a certified CNA, or if just taking the CNA course works?
