I’m not sure if it’s too early to start this thread, but anyone on here planning on applying to Texas Tech’s Second Degree program in May?

Hey, there is!
9 hours ago, HannahRM said:Hi there! I may be able to provide some insight. I'll be in the 2021 group and have met over half of those accepted (virtually for now). From what I have seen, we have incredible diversity. There are females and males, some coming from the military, teaching, and business world. Some have healthcare experience, others do not at all. There are also parents in the mix!
There are students represented from so many nationalities - Asian, Middle Eastern, African, Hispanic, and some moving from other states (Alaksa!) to come to the program. And speaking for myself, there is not an over emphasis on grades - they truly seem to take your whole story (and largely the interview) into account. You may be able to request an actual breakdown of the demographics from the School of Nursing - I am sure they have something like that on hand! I hope that helps. ?
I will advise you asked why you were not able to get in. It could be credentials or the interview itself. This will help for any other interview/application . I am African American and I was accepted!
@Spaceandtime I agree with what everyone else suggested as well. Acceptances still may be going out but if you do not receive one unfortunately, contact them and see if they will tell you why.
I will say I have gone to many tours for multiple PA programs and nursing programs and when you look at the class photos from 2005 to 2015 they all look very similar. I really wish the race category could be removed from applications altogether.
