I’m not sure if it’s too early to start this thread, but anyone on here planning on applying to Texas Tech’s Second Degree program in May?

I reached out to them and they said I could screenshot the grade!! Thanks so much for your help ?
@TyE in the last webinar they mentioned it’s normal to take several weeks to check off the transcripts, even longer now because of COVID-19. Between my undergrad and getting science prereqs from community colleges, I have transcripts from five different schools. I submitted my application and requested all transcripts on May 28th and three of them just got checked off on June 16th. The other two still say awaiting. I do know if they get to your application and all of them aren’t in yet, they set you aside and move on to the next applicant and go down the line before circling back to you again. Since it’s not rolling admissions, it doesn’t really matter, but it is frustrating knowing I’ll have to wait longer to have everything checked off!
Hey guys I’m a little late to this party but I do plan on submitting my application soon. The only worry of mine is the previous undergrad GPA. Does anybody know if that’s a factor? Because I have made As in all if my courses since undergrad, well everything required for the prereqs. I haven’t been able to get in touch with ms Cindy yet because I literally JUST found out about this program 3 days ago and realized that I fit the criteria. Any advice guys? I feel like I’m a pretty strong applicant. I work in healthcare and my science GPA is a 3.75 , cumulative (prerequisite GPA) is a 3.4 so I’m just a little nervous about applying

Yes, you’re good. You need above a 2.5 on both. Including your CNA license, medical terminology, and Pathophysiology if you have those you should be good!
@jdaigs94 I would definitely encourage you to apply! Anecdotally, I’ve heard they take a very holistic approach to applications and GPA is only one piece of the pizza. As long as you meet the minimum, I’d put in an application! Obviously every class and every application is different, but I know people who have been accepted to this program with a lower GPA than yours. Good luck!

They calculate your cumulative GPA with all the higher ED courses you have ever taken, not only prerequisites! They have two GPA sections, pre req and cumulative, they are two of the items on the rubric!
@jeiman1Hi from Frisco, as well! I’ve applied to the program, so it’s great to have another person from the area applying. I did my CNA in Florida years ago so I can’t help with your question. I’ve seen some Dallas options being discussed on this thread as well as the ‘20 thread so you may want to search there.
@Jenyg awesome! Thank you! My original plan was to go through Collin but I have been doing a lot of research and I realized I meet the criteria for Tech. Which is great because my husband, 2 brothers, bother-in-law, and even my father are alumni. My dad also took residence students from Tech's medical students to do part of their residency at his clinic. My only issue is my original cumulative GPA from my first BSA is low (high enough to apply but not much). I'm doing well in my sciences right now so I hope they look at that as well. I won't be able to apply until after the fall because I need to at least finish micro. Let me know if you get in.
