I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!
Hello everyone. I hope that your program is not very stressful. Do you travel to take exams? What location are exams offered? Hopefully, they don't require that you travel far. Asking because I have little ones and cannot travel too far often. Thank you and blessings.

I'm up early this morning and church is still closed for me. ....so I thought I would reach out for some quick updates. I know how stressful it was for me waiting to hear back. I know there's over 800 applicants and the faculty working on things is OVERLOADED to say the least. This is a wonderful program if you are smart enough. You MUST rely on others! Graduation is an individual project but getting there will be a team effort with your cohort. 2020 will probably be the class that lives in infamy it's been rough they keep saying we will be at graduation whatever form that takes. This program is by no means EASY or cheap. I have lost basically all my work income to take this program on so I'm DEAD SET on graduating in December. All of our papers say graduation is 12 December 2020 and that's the time I'm planning my road trip to see all the people I haven't been able to see this year, but have gotten me mentally through. IT'S BEEN ROUGH AND WE AREN'T ANYWHERE NEAR DONE!
If you aren't a note taker or you don't have embedded study habits start working now. I have had to evolve ALL YEAR. If you suck at math consider starting with studying dosage and calculation in ANY FORM. You can not know to much Pharmacology.
Orientation----take notes and save them! I assume students from each co-hort will come and talk but our experience won't be yours so focus on the faculty.
Get to know your classmates just as you would co-workers. Nursing is a career field based in professionalism. A BSN nurse is expected to be a leader out the door of graduation so consider that when you sit in class and think something won't be applicable later.
I have been working in healthcare in one for or another since I was 15.....I'm 31, I have 2 kids, I haven't been able to work all year(but I work on breaks for fun). My personal support system that I mentioned in my interview isn't even the same one I have this year (my dad died two weeks after I got my acceptance letter). I have literally had to start seeing a therapist to keep me strong because I have ADHD, PTSD, and multiple anxiety disorders. If you have absolutely ANY diagnosis of any sort. Get a letter from your doc and contact https://www.ttuhsc.edu/disability/default.aspx
THIS PROGRAM IS EXPENSIVE GET 1-2 SETS OF THE COMFIEST AND MOST WRINKLE FREE SCRUBS YOU CAN FIND.(YOU'LL NEED RED TOP BLACK BOTTOM)
TAKE ANYTHING FREE ANY PRIOR NURSING STUDENTS HAVE TO OFFER FROM ANYWHERE YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN IT MAY COME IN HANDY.
Best of luck hopefully I'm not your classmate come January

If you are in San Antonio and think you may have a need for academic testing. I highly recommend ---------------------. He did academic testing for my 9 year old when she was 7. She's an A student and I strive to be like her LOL.

Hi @AMDins! I recently applied for the 2021 cohort with Odessa as my first choice location. I have a few questions about the program, most general questions like scheduling, environment, and various clinical locations. Is there any way I can contact you if you're okay with that?

[email protected]! Thank you so much!
First off congratulation to everyone who has been accepted and is currently in their program!
Hi everyone, I am super excited to apply next Spring 2021. I found this thread and have a few questions for those who have gone through this process. Thanks in advance!
I will be graduating Spring 2021 with a BA in Communications and have already met 3 of the prerequisites (I believe there are 5?), I’m currently enrolled for the Fall 2020 Pathophysiology at Tarrant County College (however it is a 2 credit level course, will this be accepted by TTUHSC? Anyone in the DFW area with a good recommendation that will be accepted by them?
TEAS isn’t required for the Spring 2021 application due to the current ongoing pandemic, they just require a CNA certification before the first day of class?
I have prior experience in a healthcare setting through Hospice care as CNA and a Emergency Department Scribe at Cook Children’s here in FTW, I believe this will help my application.
When is the first day of class? I know they require at least three of the five prerequisites during the application process, but you must have all of them completed by the first day of class, so just wondering when that would be?
Finally when are interviews usually held after the application cycle decision process is in the Summer or fall?

If you are going to be at the duty station for 2 yrs I recommend you wait to apply until you've met your new leadership and can see if its workable. If your schedule is shift work it can probably happen but if you have to be at work particular hours(9-5/7-3) it may not be doable. If your leadership is willing to work with you then it can all be done easily. The exams, simulations and basic skills course are NOT FLEXIBLE. They are EXTREMELY veteran friendly but the circumstance are unique to each individual. When I called initially to inquire about the program I was told that I should plan not to work. I did and im glad because when I do have time to work I can but Due dates are solid and so is the instruction time its by no means self paced. I dont know if that clarifies?
