Texas Tech-Accelerated BSN Spring 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!

Healthcare administration:)

Nice! That’s a good degree ? ??

I had mine onsite in Abilene today too! I was prepared for so many questions they may ask me and they asked me only like 7. So I was caught off guard when it ended but I also asked quite a few questions at the end so I think my entire interview was a little over 20 minutes. I think the current nursing students helped me a ton though. I feel like I know more-so what to expect! The best I can I guess. It's going to be so intense! I'm dying to know!

I asked when they would decide! Am I the only one?

I only asked questions that I couldn't find answers to. I ended up only having 2 questions both were answered. I thought there was a TON information on the websites but mostly the paper the next steps paper that was sent with the "virtual folder" was really helpful.

What did they say? I asked questions like what do your students struggle most with in the program, how do you make yourselves available for students and I also asked what most contributes to the student’s high NCLEX pass rate. So a lot of opinion type of questions.

No later than mid month.

I’m so happy y’all enjoyed Abilene! I think it’s one of the best campuses, and definitely has one of the best sim labs of all the campuses. And the instructors are AWESOME! I loved being at the Abilene campus. Several people from Dallas also moved and we’re glad they did b/c they had fewer distractions in Abilene vs DFW. (Just a thought.)

the waiting game game is almost over! And then the hard part begins. ?

I asked what advice would they give to new nursing students based on their experience? and I also asked what I could do to be prepared for the start of the program if I was lucky to be accepted.

Well my 25 minute interview felt like 5. Felt like half dream half blackout. Walked out feeling good about it and then got in my car and thought “crap, what did I just say in there?!?”... anybody else lol

Where did you interview? I also felt like I blacked out lol and I know for sure they were able to tell I was a nervous wreck? I hope some of my answers made sense ?

Lubbock! But for Odessa. I think today is the last on site interviews.
