I know applications are just going out but I thought I would start a thread so that anyone applying to Texas State this semester can share their stats/questions/comments

Im currently sitting at a:

Prerequisite: 3.55

Science: 3.39

Teas: 93 composite & 99th percentile

What about you guys?

I just want to say I am so grateful to have this group. It's such an exciting time, and it's even better to have a group to go through the journey with! I think it would be really neat if more people got involved, but I am thankful for all of you who are contributing! It definitely makes the time pass a bit faster having you guys chime in on here while we all bite our nails in suspense awaiting the outcome!! :) :snurse:

i went to get mine done last week, and it probably took less than ten minutes. I didn't take anything else with me besides my drivers license and form of payment. You get your finger prints done electronically and they send that information to the dps,FBI, and the board of nursing and they ask you for the mailing address and they will send you a card in the mail. Once you get the card in the mail I think you make a copy of it and mail the original copy of the card to St. Davids.

How long did it take for you to get correspondence in the mail? Blue card etc. Did they send you an email or just in snail mail?

it took about a week for it to come in the mail, and no they didn't send an email they just sent it to my house.

Hello everyone, my name is Lauren and I reapplied this year. I was waitlisted last year and I brought up my science GPA since then so hopefully I have a better chance this time. I currently go to Texas State!

Hi Lauren! Welcome to the group! I hope you make it in too! When you got wait listed last year, did they give you any incite afterwards on anything like what to improve on or what they were focusing on? Just curious if as a vet applicant had any incite ;). How were your teas scores last year? Some people saying those are really important so curious about that as well :)

Hello Melissa. When you receive a decision email it will say if you are accepted, denied or not qualified if I remember correctly. My email stated something along the lines of your GPA was not as competitive, but if you bring it up after the spring semester you will be considered for the waitlist. So after the spring, I was put on the waitlist but was not chosen as an alternate. My TEAS scores met all of the minimums so yes it is important to meet Texas State's minimum TEAS score requirements!

when did you receive the email? Was it towards the end of march?

I believe it was April 1, but the email this year said we would hear back at the end of March. I wouldn't expect it before the last week of March.

okay thank you! Also two more questions sorry. Does everyone get the email for the blue background check? I have yet to get one. And what do they say is a competitive GPA?

I believe everyone gets the background check email, some stated that they got theirs later than others. I am unsure of what they deem "competitive" but on their website you will see what GPA is needed to be considered for admission. You will need to meet all 3 qualifications in order to be considered for admission- the minimum science GPA, minimum pre-requisite GPA, and the minimum TEAS scores.
