Texas Service Center Tracker for I-140

I have actually not yet heard of any one who filed last July 2007 whose I-140 has been approved already on either Texas or Nebraska SC and it looks like your lawyer hasn't either.

There was someone that posted on the I-140 Texas tracker thread that got her I-140 approval after 6 months (so last January) who applied last July just a few days ahead of mine. If I got mine approved in the next month or two I would be delighted. I know Suzanne says that it is still retrogression, which I am well aware of but there are other issues besides getting the green card that would decrease my anxiety. One is the certainty that the approval is made, secondly that we could pursue a mortgage which lenders are more interested in after an approved petition is established, and lastly that I could potentially think about moving to another floor at our facility. My husband thinks it would be better to stay on the same floor until the I-140 is approved. I am not sure if it matters if I stay with the same employer. I have been on the same floor for 18 months and thought it would be fun to try to spread my wings to other areas of the hospital.

Correction.. Nebraska Service Center's processing time is now March 10, 2007. :wink2:

Are nurses not still under the Schedule A nurses category as far as processing time goes? The March 10, 2007 time is for skilled worker category for the I-140.

What lenders do is up to them but I already saw a post from an immigration themed website that has been on H1B for a long time and filed for AOS in July and it was denied. His reaction to the denial and what he plans to do after and before leaving the US was not that good and almost all others felt the same way as him or plans to do similar to what he thinks that way if their AOS cases were denied after paying taxes all through out those years under H1B just to have their AOS denied.

That is what we are worried about and therefore don't want to make any big decisions until the approval is assured. The example you shared is pretty devestating. From what we have heard, the majority of H1B's that are getting denied for GC are due to "inability to pay" on behalf of the employer. That is certainly not the case with my employer so that part makes me feel better but we have already had the experience in 2001 of losing a job (my hubby) and having to move back to our country just 2 months after purchasing a home and promised ourselves that we would never put ourselves in that situation ever again. So are waiting it out but the market is so ideal now it is difficult to be patient. Thanks so much for your feedback on these forums.

Hi, my pd is july 25 2007 and last apr 18, I got my I140 approval. It took almost 9 months for the approval. My case was filed at Texas Service Center.:wink2:

Hi , why dont you call up NVC on 603-334-0700, enter your USCIS receipt number, they will give you your NVC number and give information on the status of your file.

I had exactiy the same problem since my 1-140 was approved May 20 2006. I called my lawyer times without number , his response is always RELAX until my friend with the same pd and approval was interviewed and left . At last he told me that my approval letter was missent to National record centre instend of National visa centre . To cut the story short , I paid certain amount to file for 1-824 july 2007 and duplicate of aproved 1-140 was sent to NVC sept 2007. I strongly advise you to mail your atorney and advice that I-824 be filed so that you can benefit from the movement in pd.

There was a retrogression that started October, 2006. Anything that was submitted around then or even just before will not move any further than approval on the I-140. A visa bill miust be sent and paid before the government here will send out the DS-230, and then that needs approval as well before one can be in-line for a green card.

Does not matter if the PD date may be current or not, but the fact that a completed file is needed as well before there will be any interview scheduled. And without visas being current, we are not seeing much in the way of visa bills being sent out, etc.

If there are no visas available, then no forward movement. Also be aware that there has been a slow-down in processing as many immigration employees have shifted their focus to getting those that have pending citizendhip thru so that they may be able to vote this November. That is a priority here in the US, not working on green cards. Sorry to say, but that is just how things are at this time.
