U.S.A. Texas

:nurse: Hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest some excellent nursing schools in Dallas. Right now I am living in Houston and is planning to move to Dallas. Not sure what part of Dallas yet, but I don't mind driving where ever I need to go to get what I need. I would like to find a good school to get my RN. I hope someone can help me out. Thanks for your time.

I'm not in Dallas, but here is a list of Board-approved RN programs in Texas, so that you can begin looking into them.

1. Brookhaven College, Farmers Branch

2. El Centro College, Dallas

3. Texas Women's University, Denton

4. Tarrant County College, Fort Worth

5. Tarleton State University, Stephenville

6. University of Texas at Arlington

7. Trinity Valley Community College, Kaufman

8. North Central Texas College, Gainesville

9. Hill College, Cleburne

10. Northeast Texas Community College, Mount Pleasant

11. Grayson County College, Denison

12. Tyler Junior College, Tyler

13. Paris Junior College, Paris

14. Navarro College, Corsicana

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

Texas Womens RN program is actually in Dallas near Parkland, even though the University is in Denton - they have a masters level program in Denton but not a BS/RN program.

Thank you for the clarification. I knew that Texas Women's Univ. had 3 main campuses in and around the metroplex, but wasn't sure about the RN program(s) and where they were being offered.

Can't forget TCU (Texas Christian University) in Fort Worth! It's great... though I'm a bit biased! :)

Besides those programs listed above there are also programs offered by Baylor University in Dallas and Collin County Community College in Plano.

Specializes in Emergency/Trauma/Education.

There's a campus in Plano, but the nursing classes are at the main campus in McKinney.
