Lonestar Fall 2013 hopefuls

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone!

I just submitted my application for the Fall 2013 Lonestar College basic track ADN program. LSC-Montgomery is my first choice, followed by LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball.

I applied with an 11.81. Has anyone else out there applied, or are you preparing to apply?

Looking forward to starting a supportive and informative Lonestar thread, as applicants have the past few years

Ok, Ok, ok I got my own answer. Apparently, if you have already did your fingerprinting you may have to do it again. I talked to Linda and she said " We are suppose to wait until we receive the letter telling us to set up our fingerprinting appointment." After rereading the first background document, number 1 and 2 do say that. WOW! How did I miss that? I thought that was something that they already had done. She also said the letters for us to schedule the appointment will go out this week.

So did you do a declaratory statement before applying?

So did you do a declaratory statement before applying?

No, I don't have a need to. I have never had any background issues I thought that's what those were for.

Yes, that is what that is for, however, I guess there was a loss in translation from your initial statement that wasn't clear to me.

Anyone hear anything from Montgomery yet?

I thought the 2013 Admits Link on the website said we needed to complete our social security verification and the background check before May 2nd or 3rd..hmm i must have read that wrong as well. I hope we dont have to do it again. That would be a total waste of 40 bucks! Oh well...better safe than sorry..

No word over here! Still waiting to hear from either Moco or Tomball......

Hey Heather tomball sent out emails 2 weeks ago.. Moco is the last to send out acceptances

It did! That's why I was under the impression they had sent our information to the BON already and we were clear to do the checks. However, that is not the case they have sent them, but they are still waiting to get the names verified. Hopefully we will get the clear to go ahead soon. That gives us even less time to have it completed.

Email??! Holy crap I wonder if it is my lonestar email or the one I put on my application..... Jeez maybe I should check those things every now and then. Lemme go sort through my mess ill let you guys know!

Keep me posted if you find out we have to redo our finger prints! Not cool...hoping the ones we did will do

**As a reminder, you must begin the background/fingerprint process immediately and have it completed no later than Friday, May 3rd , 2013. Please follow the steps outlined on the FAST form that was enclosed along with your offer letter (if enclosed with offer letter). (If your letter did not include such form then the Board of Nursing (BON) has indicated you do not need to resubmit fingerprints.)

*Please be advised that we are waiting on the list for fingerprinting from BON. We are expecting to have a list by Friday, April 12, 2013. If your name is on the list that is received, then you will be sent an email providing instructions on how to schedule your fingerprinting appointment.

Whoopsie, i guess we jumped the gun...contradicting info is never a good thing when you are dealing with a bunch of "deer in headlight" nursing school newbies...

I submitted a declaratory order just incase and the BON deposited my check on the 12th. It stated in the directions for that to "schedule fingerprinting 10 days after mailing off paperwork" so thats what i did and it just so happened i got the acceptance letter around the same time. I paid and did the background check on the NH website too (lol, i know if i see it..i pay for it) and nothing came up so i guess the declaratory was pointless but you all know my new catch phrase.."better safe than sorry"
