Some of the videos are only accessible either in the BHO lab, in the labs on the 8th floor (you have to ask Linda for them), or even some where else. I don't remember. But believe me there are so many I didn't watch any of those , I only watched the ones available on tegrity through ecampus and I did just fine. They are just overloading you with this stuff and telling you . " You have to watch this!!!!!!" Well, I didn't.

Jaxia - you know I'm up early anyways, taking Brianna to school. I might as well utilize my time! I'm caught up on reading (skills & lecture), just the dang videos I can't find. Oh well...I'll bring the software (tomorrow) for you to load on your laptop so I can send you the recorded lectures too. Listening to lectures over and over again seems to help me alot. Especially if I follow along in the notes I took during class.. when I make additions to existing notes, I seem to remember it better for some reason. I tried to enter the Medspub thing and got a message that said no seats were left when I entered the class code. What's up with that?? I gotta get ready for my meeting with the Daughers of the American Revolution!! See you guys later!

Jaxia,

I am sorry to tell you but you don't get taught everything in lecture what you will need for the test. There are some students that say, they never read their book. I don't know how they did it, I personally had to read every thing in it. It might not be so much for the first couple of tests, but later on I saw so many test questions come from fineprint in the book. I myself took the powerpoint/lecture printout as a guide to study , but made my own notes from the book when I read. And then I recommend you do tons of NCLEX style questions. MEDS PUB and I believe we told you guys about this book Fundamentals of Success. It's never to early to start practicing with those.

Good Luck, Kathy!

Thanks for the information, mysterious. But we do have access to copies of the ppt slides ahead of time? Are they online, and I can print them out and take them to class?

Hmmm....I'm beginning to wonder if it's what I made from the old list and is now circulating around the net. lol

It can be your list of drugs that you made based on the drug cards. If so, that's for 2nd semester students.

:balloons: Finally, it looks like we start this semester. Tomorrow is my hospital orientation and on Monday IVPB skills lab is at NLC. I am so happy that I don't have to sit at home anymore.

Our 7-hour has been rescheduled to this Friday.

I was up and ready to go Wednesday. Now, I want to sleep in tomorrow. :chuckle

Jaxia,

Check your ecampus. Mine already has what looks like all the powerpoint and outline stuff for the whole semester - there is tons of stuff. Also, I would recommend the "Fundamentals to Success" book that Mysterious mentioned. I have heard every single person above us on this board (that I know of) recommend this book.

Anybody have an author or ISBN on that Fundamentals book??

Thanks Amy. eCampus and I don't get along all that well, but I suppose I'm going to have to figure it out. (I am accustomed to the software that TCC uses to run their online classes and I like it much better.)

That book is on my 'To Buy' list. Looks like I need to increase the priority :D

Anybody have an author or ISBN on that Fundamentals book??

Kathy

"Fundamentals Success: A Course Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking" by Patricia Nugent & Barbara Vitale

My book has 2 ISBN #'S listed below:

13: 978-0-8036-1056-9

10: 0-8036-1056-4

Another good book for 1st semester is from the Prentice Hall Nursing Reviews & Rationales series titled "Nursing Fundamentals". The series breaks down what we are required to read into the "short & sweet" version with NCLEX questions before & after the review.

For 2nd semester the Straight A's series is also good.
