i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

I will be going to Mesquite Community. Not sure if I made the right choice. I have Stanfield. Anyone know about him/her? I am not crazy about going to Mesquite Community but it is right down the highway from me and I thought that would be easier on my family if I am close like that and dh jobs and all. I was really wanting VA. I can always chose VA next time.

I haven't found any black nursing shoes. I see some nice white ones. I don't have all black tennis shoes so I guess I have to go to the mall to find some.

I totally forgot to ask about the cargo pants. I was worry about the hospital I was going to go to the entire time I just forgot.

I was in the second group of numbers called up. I was #27.

I am getting impatient about Jan. coming. I just want it to come so we can start everything. I ordered my name badge yesterday and they told me it will be in 4 weeks. I hope they don't screw it up since we have to have those for our skills labs.

The orientation was interesting though... :)

What hospitals did you guys have to choose from?

I would love to have that scanned to me if you don't mind.

I can send you the notes and literature we get in class if that would help. Where are you going?

Our hospitals are:

Presby-Dallas, Medical Center-Plano, RHD Memorial, Charlton Methodist.

I go back to Europe to visit my relatives. I will spend 3-4 weeks there.

It would be great if you scanned some notes of those classes. I would appreciate it. :) But please don't spend to much time scanning.

I sent you the drug list.

Let me know if somebody else wants it, too.

Katie

Can you send me the drug list? My e-mail is Thanks!! Oh and what part of Europe will you be going to?

I go to Eastern Europe, Hungary. :)

Guys, please don't post your e-mail addresses here. The moderators always say that it's not safe. Please use PM.

RHD is a good hospital from what I could tell. I used to work as a medical assistant in the professional buildings there.

However, I'd be 'skeered' to go to a hospital with a name of R.H. "Dedman". :chuckle :uhoh3:

Katie, do you mind sending me that list as well? I'd be interested in seeing it. Thanks. :)

Specializes in Nephrology.

hahaha funnie. That's true!

Wow, NL had better hospitals to choose from it seemed like. I guess these instructors know what they're doing :)

I wouldn't mind a bit sending you notes Katie. Thank you so so so much for scanning that in for me! I guess I should have thought before posting my email up here hahaha. I was just so excited that you would do that for me! :rotfl:

Katie, are you from Hungary?

Jenn, I called a store called Uniform World and they said they had black nursing shoes. There may be one out by you. The location I called was on Walnut Hill. Their number is 214-691-0334 if you wanted to give them a call. They're open Mon-Sat so that's really convenient for me. I think I will look at their place. Also, a place called Citi Uniforms (214-630-4000) sells the black nursing shoes. They're located at 1348 Inwood Rd. I hope this helps ya out a little :) I won't be able to afford mine until I get my loan check. :o

Thanks....got it just fine! (....and WOW!) :uhoh21:

I went to the mall that is close to me after picking up the kids from school and got a pair of black nursing shoes from Life Uniform. Seems pretty comfy. She said that it was the best selling shoe there. Not sure if that is true or not but I tried on others and this was the lightest feeling. Not crazy with the way it looks since it isn't really by style or anything but it felt comfy which is what I want. Also ordered online my stethoscope. At the store I listened to several different ones and the one I ordered online sounded the best. It was really clear. I ordered it online though because it was around $50 cheaper.

Hey Christy!

To my understanding someone will be registering us and then we just go and pay? I just want to make sure....

Sorry, I just remembered your question. That is my understanding also. In my notes, I have Ms. Farley stating she'll register us and we can check on-line November 28th after 3:00 p.m. for our schedule. At that time, we can pay on-line or in person on campus.

What brand/type did you choose?

I bought the pack that the Student Nurses Association was selling at the orientation. It came with a black Littman Lightweight.

Katie

I bought the Littmann Cardiology III. I probably didn't need to get something like that but it just sounded really good compared with the others. I also got it in black.
