Hello everyone! I wanted to see if there is anyone else out there that received letters for Fall 2011 acceptance to Collin College.

I received mine today and am absolutely in la-la land!

Anyone else out there? What were your stats like?

Congrats to all who got acceptance and crossing my fingers for everyone else who hasn't heard anything as of yet!

i am starting fall 2011 too!!!! so excited!

I am also starting the program Fall 2011, I can't wait I am so excited! Good Luck to everyone!

Also starting Fall 2011. I had 15pts. Should have been 16, but currently re-taking Statistics as it's been more than 5 years since I took Advanced Stats in Grad school.

Congrats! My name is Natalie and I am the 2nd VP of CNSA (Collin Nursing Student Association) and I will be at your orientation. I will be in my 3rd semester in the Fall. The experience goes quickly. :)

I can't wait to meet you guys and I will be readily available to any of you who want/need it. Again, congratulations! See ya soon!

Hi Natalie~ My name is Whitney. Thank you for introducing yourself. I am excited about orientation but trying to stay focused on microbiology and my other three classes right now. See you on the 29th!

BAhhh! I'm so pumped! Woot, see you guys on the 29th! Thanks Natalie for the introduction. :)

I can not wait!! I am really ready to begin, I know it will be tough but so worth it when its all done!! I am excited about meeting all of you in 24 days!! But you know, who's counting??;-) Does anyone that is already in the program have any advise about childcare etc. I have two boys 6 and 2, I know my youngest will need to do some daycare.. but should I do full time daycare and after school for my 6 year old?

The answer to your childcare questions is yes. You will need full time daycare on most days as well as plan B, C and D as to what to do if your child gets sick. There aren't any "excused absences" for sick kids (or even sick self) unfortunately. Your schedule will look as if you have openings part of the week where your child won't have to be in care. Those are the times you will need for homework, group projects, skills lab practice, major care plans and the like.

After school care is hard for a lot of people. You will only need it a couple of days a week (lecture and clinical day), but on those days there is zero flexibility, so either get the after school care (and thus buy yourself that time for studying as well) or find someone who can pick your older child up and keep them until you get out of class.

Thank you RN2BDFW I had a feeling but wanted to clarify:rolleyes:. I am trying to work it all out before Fall sneeks up on me! Do we get our schedule for clinicals and classes at the first orientation? And do clinicals ever go through the night, or are they all scheduled during the day?

First semester clinicals are always during the day and typically will not go past 3pm, unless there is some special meeting or instruction scheduled for that day (lab tour, wound care teaching, etc, etc).

I got called yesterday and I'm in!!! See you all on April 29!
